Running with my resolutions

in Hive Reachout9 days ago

In all honesty, my resolutions for this year are what I am not giving up on at all, and I am doing everything within my capacity to keep them running until I am fully satisfied or have achieved the goal.

One of the resolutions is to take relationships very seriously—relationships with friends, family, and romantic relationships. Over the years, this is something I have been pushing away, neglecting significantly, and discarding anything that comes with having a romantic relationship, especially considering how unstable relationships in the world at large have become. I did not want to get my heart involved in that sector of crying and heartbreak, but it is something we cannot completely do away with.

The other resolution is to save money, no matter how small, and not touch it until the end of the year. So far, I have been doing this, even if the amount has been little, because, as they say, half a loaf is better than none.

The following are ways I have been keeping active in these resolutions:

  • Having a constant reminder

I did not write the resolutions on a bold paper and place it in the corner of my room as others do. No, I simply programmed my mind to remind me every now and then, and this has been happening anytime I come across something related to my resolutions.

For building good relationships, reminders are everywhere. Once I scroll through my WhatsApp status and see my siblings’ photos or any other status, I immediately make calls or chat with them. This is a complete opposite of how I used to be. Once I get the urge to message or call someone, I do not hesitate or procrastinate like before.

For romantic relationships, I no longer run away anytime I experience difficulties or challenges. Now, I stay back and make things work. This may sound funny, but anytime I come across a post about relationships on social media, it reminds me of my resolution to maintain a strong and healthy relationship this year, and so far, it has been working well.

The same principle applies to my savings.

I work in a field where I earn small amounts daily, so whenever money enters my hands or bank account, I immediately remember my resolution to save something, no matter how small. As a result, I quickly transfer a portion of it to the account I use for saving.

The account is one I do not have direct access to withdraw from unless I go to the bank, and that is something I cannot see myself doing anytime soon. In fact, I dislike going to the bank because I see it as stressful. So, the money is locked until the end of the year when I will gather the courage to visit the bank. I could have saved in crypto, specifically in USDT, but that seems like a long journey to me. Yes, I am aware of the effects of saving in banks, especially with the deductions and charges, but that is fine too.

Among all my resolutions, the only one I have not been keeping up with as planned is being active in this blockchain. Well, maybe I am somewhat active because I have been writing at least once a week, but that is not exactly what I had in mind when I set my goals for the year. I really need to step up in this area.

Thanks!

Wow wow this is great yo know that you are resolute in ensuring you keep up to your resolution for the year. Though it was written boldly on paper like others but your ability to keep reminding yourself is something to be applaud for.

May you achieve all you desire and plan for this year. Thank you for sharing.
