Good evening, everyone; how are you doing today? I welcome every one of you to my blog.
Honestly, I'm glad to be a part of this week's contest.
This week's contest theme is so amazing because it reminds me of something. This week's theme is Most embarrassing moment.
Indeed, every living creature on this planet has his or her embarrassing moment. I don't think there's anyone who hasn't encountered such.
We're in the world, and as long as we're in the world, we won't escape it.
What is embarrassment?
The word embarrassment refers to those moments in our lives when we think or perceive that we've lost our reputations.
I want to relate my most embarrassing moment with you. But it occurred in my childhood days.
Being born in a rural area, I was exposed to so many things which turned out to affect me negatively.
I lived with my grandmother when I was ten years old. It wasn't a bad idea to live with her. Naturally, it was her duty to take proper care of me.
So, while I was staying with her, I discovered that each time she attended any occasion, she would bring back food for me and the rest of my cousins. And we never shared those foods with anyone. It was always separate.
So I grew up with the mindset that each time I attend an occasion, I must eat and also take some food back home.
So a few years later, I traveled to my village to visit my parents. Fortunately enough, we had a child dedication ceremony in the church.
So, immediately after the dedication, some ushers were asked to share food to people in the congregation.
As they continued to share the food, it seemed they were about to finish. So I stood up and stretched forth my hands just to collect the food. One of the urshers shouted at me.
I've never been embarrassed like that before. Everyone that was in the church turned and looked at me. I thought of digging a hole inside the church just to hide my face from such a great shame.
My mother came to where I was sitting and asked me why I chose to embarrass myself and them in public, and I didn't respond.
When we returned home, my mother cooked one pot of rice, and she commanded that my brothers and sister shouldn't help me to finish it.
I ate rice till it was coming out from my nostrils. I cried, and I begged my mother to forgive me but she refused to.
In conclusion, the most embarrassing moment I had in my childhood days, has taught me a lot of things. As it is now, I can never attend anyone's occasion without eating in my house, and that has shaped my life, and I will transfer the same to my children.
