Permit me to use this opportunity to appreciate the leadership of Hive Reachout Community for giving me the privilege to share my hive goals for the year 2025. It’s a privilege because I’m a good goal setter but I’ve never thought about setting a goal to achieve here at hive until this topic came up. And we all know how important it is to have a goal and diligently pursue the it to the success end. Goal setting doesn’t only help you remain focused, but it also help you measure your achieved result so that you can prepare more next time, so I really do not take that for granted.
So, what is a goal?
In my own term I would say that a goal is a specific and a desired achievable result an individual or a group plan to achieve. Goals are like benchmarks that helps individuals or groups to measure their progress and level of success. In that note the importance of goal setting can never be over emphasized.
At the cause of this topic I will be sharing my personal goals which I set out to achieve this year in the hive community by the grace of God and also with the assistance and support from my amazing hive family. Some of my Set goals are:
1. To Learn About Cultural Sensitivity: Hive is a platform that consist of diverse people with different cultures across the globe. And some of these cultures are completely different from mine. So, to strike a balance I must learn to understand those cultures and treat people with all sense of human and respect.
2. Building Connections: Having known that the hive space is a community of different people with different cultures, I have taken it upon myself that this year 2025 I will connect with at least 1 new members from different part of the world every week so that I can learn and also share experiences that will help us grow in the community.
3. Regular Contribution and Seeking Feedback: My engagement last year in the hive community was very poor and I know that. For that reason, I have resolve withing myself this year to do better. And to do better I’ve realized that I must engage with people’s posts by commenting and contributing where necessary and also seek feedback where need be because that will not only help me understand some certain things in the community, but will also help me in terms of personal development and growth.
4. Expand My Skills: Singing is one of the God giving talents I know I have in me. Therefore, I feel there is need for personal training and learning from individuals within the hive community and also outside the community. Like my favorite preacher will always say; “People will never continue clapping for you for doing the same thing repeatedly”. Therefore, there is always the need for personal development and that happens to be one of my set goals for this year in this community.
5. Document My Journey: The best way one will know his or her progress is by documentation. In that regards I resolve within myself that as I set ..these goals to achieve, I will also do well to document my progress journey because that will also help me to identify my lapses and work on improving myself or doing better next time.
Conclusion
In conclusion I’ll advise everyone to also set achievable goals and ensure they discipline themselves to achieve it because it’s one thing to set a goal and it’s another thing to work towards achieving the set goals.
