We all have childhood memories we look back to and smile to ourselves oh! how childish. Every childhood came with a superstition we all believed were true. Like when we loose our first set of teeth, for every tooth we loose, we don't allow a lizard to see the gap in our teeth if not it will never grow back again. l remembered when i fought my neighbor because he walked and crossed my legs without crossing back, i insisted he crossed back but he refused.
Throwback 2021
When i come back home at night after wandering in the neighborhood, my mom will insist i bath before eating my food, i will quickly rush to the bathroom and wash my hands and legs then lie that i have taken my bath. it's obvious i was lying because You can still see dirt and sand on my head.

l have actually been laughing since i started writing this piece because i did so many childish things, i kept wondering how naive i was to have believed such or acted the way i did then. l remembered when i will sleep with my christmas clothes well ironed beside me on the bed anxiously waiting for the day to break, so i could go out with my friends and celebrate. For every pant or boxers my mom got me, i must find a way to show off to my friends i'm putting on new underwear.
Thank God for growth and maturity because i can't even imagine myself doing such things again. Anytime i go to the kitchen to serve food , i first serve myself meat then cover it with the food, then i will put one meat on top like any innocent child would lol!. lnfact this behaviour stuck with me longer because up until my adult age, l was still doing it. l believe some adults still do it.
Throwback 2018
How can l forget when we used to wear pencil trousers 'wizzy' and a very big shirt 'MOB' and barb afro hairstyles just to impress the girls in school. we were competing for who will earn the title of 'baddo' or baddest........lol. we believe the more pencil the trouser was the more swag we have. It's funny now that pencil trousers have become old fashion. Something that was once the order of the day.
Everything has it's time, we all go through childhood and certain behaviours we were comfortable with begin to look awkward and childish as time goes on and maturity begins to set in.

Yes, childishness is one of the stages, as life develops. You are right, when you said that many still act childish, even in their adulthood. This is not supposed to be so.
One of the evidence which shows we are growing up to maturity, is our deliberateness to shedding off childishness.
