My name is Kayode Michael rotimi,so happy to be in this community as I will gain alot exposure from professionals and experts through shared opinions, thoughts and experiences.
I'm grateful for that.I am a newbie from Nigeria, yes, the giant of Africa, among the top 5 richest in africa and having the top richest persons in africa but unfortunately still among the poorest in the world interms of economy and standard of living.
A country where the rich can eat their cake and have it but the poor struggle to even eat crumbs,a nation where corruption is now the order of the day and surprisingly 'snakes' and 'monkeys' now swallow public funds......funny isn't it? this is the 'world' we live in.
I hail from the South Western part of Nigeria, osun state precisely, widely known for being rich in mineral resources:Gold and other precious stones, one would think that life would be on a platter of gold but instead it was the other way round.I came from a humble background of 5 children and my parents were determined to making sure that their children were not limited academically,I attended a couple of primary schools up until age 9 when I got admitted into secondary school;Adeyemo college of arts and science, having passed the entrance examination that looked like the 'gateway to heaven' I decided to make my parents proud and help put the family name in the 'hall of famer' and 'league of achievers'.My secondary school was a 'shocker' to me as I barely studied and attended class because of my love for sports especially football.Hmmm......i did not just fall 'in love' with this game but also fell in my grades.I could play football for a day without eating and even when I dislocated my arm, training was more Paramount to me than my health that my parents had to lock me at home when they are not around........infact,
I was on 'football lockdown'.to cut the long story short,I scaled through secondary School with my grades 'sitting on the fence'.After my secondary School,I sat for the West African examination council(waec) exam and Joint admissions and matriculation board(jamb) exam but unfortunately,I was not admitted that year,so,I had to seat for another jamb examination the following year and was given admission into Air Force institute of technology, kaduna to study Aircraft engineering technology. My First year in school was a bit challenging as I needed to settle and blend into a different environment that required discipline and reverence.
My school is run by the military, where my 'coconut head' will be corrected according to my parents. My parents are disciplinarians;they never gave room for indiscipline and always making sure that we are well catered for. My father is a businessman,Animal nutritionist and entrepreneur while my mum is a trader and a fervent Christian to the core
