Integrity truly starts with the little things, the seemingly ‘insignificant’ actions that shape our character over time. Your experience at camp highlights an important truth: doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary.
I love how the young lady in your story reminded you of James 4:17. It’s a powerful verse that shows integrity isn’t just a moral choice; it’s a responsibility. Many times, we convince ourselves that small compromises don’t matter, but they do. If we can’t be trusted in the little things, how can we be trusted with bigger responsibilities?
Your lesson about keeping the mint sachet in your pocket until you find a proper place to dispose of it is such a simple yet impactful example. It’s a reminder that integrity isn’t only about major life decisions; it’s about the everyday choices we make when no one is watching.
If more people embraced this mindset, society would be so much better. Thank you for sharing this story @daverick , it’s a wake-up call for all of us to check our actions and strive to be people of integrity!
Wow!
Your comment is a whole addition to this post. Yes, integrity starts with the little insignificant things to the big major ones. We misconceive this ordeal. So many times we think it starts with that big situation in our work place or whatsoever. I'm really glad she pointed out that scripture. It always rings in mind. And yes, the society will go well to be a better place for us all if people rise to embrace integrity and live it as a life.
Thank you for reading through and making such valuable assertions sir. Haha, I had to start keeping mint sachet till if find a proper place to dispose. The lesson still rings in my head and is an empowering to do more.
