Why do some people find the word "thank you" so difficult to utter? It is one of the simplest and most soothing words I know but anyway, we have different points of view and mentality. A clergy I know always says, "Appreciation is the application for more", this is also supported by my culture or tribe. The Yoruba tribe believes so much in the power of gratitude; they believe if you are thankful for any good deeds or acts towards you, it will prompt the person to do more next time.
Gratitude is a readiness to show appreciation for any act of kindness received and ready to reciprocate. Gratitude is a valuable character trait that not everyone has; it is learnable, but people are not willing to learn. The act of appreciation is a good character to imbibe, it helps to maintain a high level of happiness. It creates a positive mindset and keeps one off stress and depression which might not be so good for human health.
Gratitude also helps strengthen relationships, making others feel appreciated through gratitude and kind words fosters stronger bonds and trust. Being appreciative of any and every act of kindness, no matter how little it is, helps maintain quietness, Harmony, and peaceful coexistence among people. Being thankful for every good thing we've received is acknowledging that it's a privilege, not a right. Appreciation for things such as health, shelter, food, and family, which are always taken for granted, is acknowledging life's basic gifts.
Taking time out to reflect on one's blessings and appreciating those who have contributed positively to one's life in one way or the other is a good act to practice.
Thanks for your time, and your comments will be appreciated.
