Who am I but a slave? “Where determination is, the way can be found’’ The Richest Man in Babylon by Clason George has to be the best financial book I’ve read in a while with an awesome lesson on finance. This book has kept me in awe of how one can completely be financially free, live well, and watch your wealth make more gold for you.
Like the walls of Babylon, I cannot afford to be without adequate protection, oh! I love how the Bible puts it: “For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense…” and “…and money answereth all things,” both verses from the book of Ecclesiastes, a valid reason to not be without protection. Wealth is power!!! I would claim my share of the good things of life; I would not be one of those who stand afar off, enviously watching others enjoy. Advice is one thing that is freely given away, but watch that you take only what is worth having; this I said to myself firmly, girl!!! It’s time to put this financial knowledge to use.
First of all, you first learn to live upon less than you could earn, a part of all I earn is mine to keep, this statement stuck ever since I came across this book.
Secondly, you learn to seek advice from those who were competent from their own experiences to give it; it mostly sticks when you learn from a good experience, making the journey easier with fewer hurdles.
And lastly, you learn to make gold work for you by learning how to acquire money, how to keep it, and how to use it. I learned that opportunity is a haughty goddess who wastes no time with those who are unprepared. If I set for myself a task, be it ever so trifling, I shall see it through. How else shall I have confidence in myself to do important things? Wealth grows wherever men exert energy. I will walk my way out of darkness into light when I find the light. A place awaits me.
Listen!!! No one will fill that place until you have worked out your own understanding until you’re ready for opportunity.
