The 'Buzziest' Bee: Which is My Favourite Hive Community?
There's a Yoruba name I disagree with: “Ẹnílọlóbọ̀,” meaning it is the one who goes that comes back. I disagree with this simply because as humans we grow at an alarming rate and we don't even know. One who goes on a journey is transformed by that journey in many different ways. So the one that returned, is he truly the one that left? Well, Mahmoud Darwish answers this question in one of his very popular poems: “You won't find the same person twice,/not even in the same person.”
Early in November, I joined Hive, with the help of this good man @ovey10. At the point of onboarding, I felt I was joining another social media community, I was already bored with Facebook and X. Well, let's just say that I was wrong. Hive has come to mean so much more to me than just a social media app. It has become for me, a classroom. It is a community of individuals who are far from the reality of the foolery that goes on in mainstream social media apps. So, between when I joined Hive and now, I have been transformed, I am not the same man I was on November 4, 2024.
"Let me quickly read something on Hive before I close."
Having said that, now to the question of which community is my favourite on Hive. First of all, let me say that I'm in quite a few communities, but I've only ever blogged in @hivereachout and @blockchainpoets. I check out posts in the photography communities because I love photography, and this is a bold claim but I am a bit of an amateur photographer myself. You may say that anyone with a smartphone is an amateur photographer, but I'm different. I capture sunsets, and flowers, and waters, and all things beautiful. I see very professional photography and some not-so-professional photos in the photography communities. I may share mine soon.
I helped bake this cake, but they won't recognise me as the baker. Well, I'm a better photographer.
I write poems. So it is only logical that I should at least write a poem in @blockchainpoets community, and that is why I have a poem in there. I enjoy reading other poets' poems vastly better than I enjoy reading mine. Also, the past few weeks have left me depleted in creative energy (meaning I couldn't write a poem in a long time).
A prophetic... No, poetic picture.
My favourite community, which I must say I never anticipated to be my favourite in the beginning, @hivereachout. This is the community where, in my opinion, newbies like me learn the ropes, however I love it because I think it helps one keep in touch with their most essential nature: HUMANITY!
I've read posts of people doing charity work. Weekly prompts in this community prompts one to reflect, whether it be childhood memories, or what one lives the most, one is sure to look back on things, maybe with a smile and write. Sometimes, this process helps one to to make corrections and new resolutions, like I did after all the encouragement I got from the community the day I posted about my experience in a hospital's phlebotomy lab donating blood. Later this month I'll pop into and do something for humanity.
Thank you once again @ovey10. Long live @hivereachout! Long live @hive!
This community is indeed a wonderful one, the weekly prompts and helping newbies while also touching humanity. It's good to be here.
