Unforgettable prank

Seeing this prompt made me remember that tomorrow, 1st of April 2025, is April Fool Day, and with this in mind, I do not think I can be fooled by any prank tomorrow. It is more fun when someone does not realize it is April Fool's Day, just like the time I once experienced while in school, which remains the biggest prank I have ever fallen for.

It was just a normal Tuesday, and the urge to go to the bank early that morning to make a compulsory payment of a departmental due had occupied my mind, so I did not realize it was the 1st of April. That day, I went to the bank from my house and had already texted my friends to help me with writing attendance in case a lecturer made it very compulsory. I went to the bank very early in the morning because I did not want to be kept in a long queue; I wanted to be among the first batch the bank would attend to.

At around 8:50 a.m., just after we had entered the bank, my phone beeped. I checked and saw an SMS from Eric, my friend, saying I should leave the bank and rush to school immediately because the lecturer wanted to give an impromptu test since there were not many students in class. I checked the queue in the bank, and only three people were ahead of me, which made it very difficult to leave. I had to call Eric, but he did not pick up the first time. He picked up the second call and faintly told me to rush to school right away. The faint voice alarmed me, making me believe it was serious because that was how we usually answered phone calls whenever a lecturer was around. I did not think twice—I rushed out of the bank, stopped a bike, and told the bikeman to go as fast as possible because I was about to miss a test. The bike man understood, and we sped off. Within five minutes or so, we arrived at the school. I jumped off the bike, paid the bikeman, and ran towards the class, only to find everyone roaming around, indicating that there was no class. In my mind, I thought the test had already ended.

I rushed into the class to look for Eric, and as soon as he saw me, with the rest of my friends they all burst into laughter. I was surprised and thought maybe they had written the test for me and were laughing at me for coming late because, for sure, we always found ways to impersonate in such situations.

After they finished laughing, I was told they had planned an April Fool’s prank, and it worked perfectly. At that moment, I did not know whether to rain insults on them or to cry over how I missed my chance to make the payment at the bank and also wasted my transport fare. I had to swallow my defeat and let them be. Throughout the day, they never ceased to mock me about how I fell for the prank.

Thanks!

That's a huge one but it's good because it is fun. Things like this, whenever it comes again, you'd not know which one is real or prank 😂

That kind of classmates suck haha
