I was assigned to design the kitchen. And the kitchen owner wants his kitchen not to look bored and colorful. Based on this request, I was reminded of a colorful design concept, namely the De Stijl Movement. I immediately suggested it to the owner of the kitchen and he immediately said yes.
In language, if translated into English de Stijl means style and style in Indonesian. Ans de Stijl is an art movement in Leiden, Netherlands, which was initiated by Theo van Deosburg, an architect and painter in 1917. This concept developed following the protracted first world war.
The de Stijl art community then tried to fulfill the wishes of the world community regarding a new harmony system, namely by looking for new principles and aesthetics in art. Basically, de Stijl only engaged in painting. Because after all the concept of de Stijl is an ideal abstraction of the composition of colors in two dimensions, although then it also creates the impression of space. The use is very much in interior and architecture.
History
de Stijl comes from the name of an art magazine in the Netherlands which was published in 1917-1931. The main founders were painters; Pet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg, later joined the architects: Gerrit Rietvekt and Jacobs Johanes Pieter Oud. This is parallel to radical design movements such as Russian Construcvism, the Bauhaus. De Stijl was born as a result of the uncertain situation of the first world war. In the era of Modernism in Europe, two movements that can be said to be the main movements are the Bauhaus in Jerma and de Stijl in the Netherlands.

De Stij, raises a dynamic form, architecture is not seen as a cover for dead buildings, but reflects time and space. Made with lightweight shapes, field play and lighting.
The color next to this, which I will use on my design. With, the main colors are yellow and black.
The color black also symbolizes protection, something negative, binding, strength, formality, mystery, deep feelings, sadness, anger, self-respect. This color is often used to show a person's strength and assertiveness. (goodminds.id)
Yellow is a color that can lift one's mood. This color has a bright nature that helps you feel positive and optimistic. The yellow color balances your mind and keeps your mood more cheerful throughout the day. (coverage 6)

What an interesting project theme to design a kitchen. What was your professor's feedback?
If I may make a suggestion, I would switch the sink and the stove placement. This would allow a range hood installation seamlessly. Try to avoid placing a gas stove directly below the window for safety and sanitary reasons. It would build up grease and grime over time and window cleaning will be required often, also to avoid dust and insects from contact with cooking food especially in our tropical climate, worse if the kitchen is on the ground floor.
Do check out the Time Savers Standards Interior Design for the proper height placement of the overhead cabinet for easy reach and access.
Thank you for sharing with us your work and project here.
Yes, I agree. a few days ago, my professor has scribbled my work and also made such suggestions. actually I also had that thought; but the dining table near the window, preferably, so that the kitchen owner can see out while eating, but, all of my reasons were debunked on the grounds of climate.
thank you for coment!
Keep designing and enjoying the process!
