Hello, hello friends lovers of architecture and design, I wish you are enjoying good health and have an excellent and prosperous week in family unity, I am happy to share with you a new delivery of the constructions and architectural works of my city, this is an emblematic and referential place of Cumaná: The Ayacucho Park and Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Museum, both are located in the center of the city in the avenue Alejandro Humboldt on the banks of the Manzanares River that crosses the entity from South to North, this river was of great importance during the colonial era and is currently one of the most important attractions of the city, on it rest two points that connect the main commercial streets: Mariño and Bermudez, whose name is due to two important heroes of the Venezuelan East.
The Ayacucho park was created for recreation and family fun, and also very important to pay tribute to the Marshal of Ayacucho Antonio José de Sucre, an outstanding hero of the Independence of Venezuela born in Cumaná, he was a great military strategist and statesman, he participated in great battles achieving important victories inside and outside the country, his greatest feat was obtained in the battle of Ayacucho on December 9, 1824, by defeating the royalist army (Spanish) and achieving the definitive freedom of the Peruvian territory that was under the domain Spanish, in this scenario he is promoted to Grand Marshal for such an important victory, the park has an oval shape and has several benches and gardens that embellish the place, visiting this park is ideal to enjoy the soft breeze under the shade of large trees and observe the route of the Manzanares River, I particularly like to visit it in the morning and afternoon with the sunset, it is very pleasant to be in this park because it has a fun area for children, the famous swings that date back several years and they are still functional, in this area there was a very popular ice cream parlor in the city that was the favorite place for children when they finished playing on the swings, they also rent cars to complement the fun of the little ones.
I remember when my son was younger we used to go to this park frequently and he really liked driving the cars and swinging, when we came it was a bit complicated because he wanted to stay longer in the park, it was useless to offer him an ice cream, just he wanted to swing for several hours.
In this park, large events are held such as gastronomic exhibitions, fairs and art exhibitions and a very important artisan fair where they present a wide variety of jewelry made of different materials. In the Christmas season they make beautiful colorful decorations, ideal for taking photos. with family and groups of friends.
If you want to walk a bit and enjoy a beautiful view of the river and the park, this has several paths and one that I especially like is the "chaguaramos path" which are arranged in such a way that they give the impression of depth, it excites me visit this area because in addition to observing the trees on the right side is the Manzanares river that offers a beautiful landscape in its route through the city, it also has an oval fountain and a platform with stairs, which serves as a stage for cultural events that take place They take place in the park, I have had the opportunity to witness several of them and they are very crowded, especially at Christmas, the park has enough space to accommodate a large group of spectators.
Located between the Ayacucho park and the children's amusement area is the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Museum, in previous years I have entered this museum and it is a great experience to take the tour, the building is divided into two floors, in the upper part Below are exhibits of works of art made of clay, wood and bronze, a statue of Antonio José de Sucre at the main door, the upper floor is divided into two wings in which objects, coins, and documents belonging to the Grand Marshal and his family, this is the part I like the most of the tour, because you can see different utensils from the colonial era that are very well preserved, the one that most attracts my attention is the sword of the liberator Simón Bolívar, at the see it my question for the guide was is it the original sword? because it has so many details and finishes that it does not look like a replica, at this point the sculptor or craftsman did an impeccable job worthy of admiration, the guide's tour and talk lasts approximately half an hour, the number of times he has visited the internal part of the museum has not I have brought a camera, for one reason or another I have left it at home, which is why I do not have photos of this area of the museum.
The museum also has a library where various texts are available that narrate the life and work of the Grand Marshal, as well as other national heroes. The outside of the building has a very wide door at the main entrance, I think it is the widest door I have ever seen, is made up of wooden rectangles with carved pictures inside, the upper ornaments of the gate that covers the entrance are a kind of fretwork, further up there are three windows with white colonial-style cornices, and two windows on the sides also with cornices, in the corners you can see columns that join the halls of the building, the side windows have the shape of a half arch and rest on small decorative columns with upper endings similar to a square cup, the windows have glass of various colors with wooden frames, it also has rectangular and semicircular windows protected by wrought iron bars, the rear entrance has a granite hallway and three doors in the shape of a semi-arch, plus three rectangular windows at the top, a detail that stands out in this museum is the high relief coat of arms of the Sucre family, which can be seen on the front and back doors.
Visiting this museum is a great experience that allows you to learn about historical aspects of the hero's life that help us understand colonial society and the lifestyle of the families of this time. So far my visit to this important museum and city park.
Blessings!
¡Bendiciones!

It is a beautiful park and being able to see part of the river is a perfect combination for recreation. The structure of the museum and library is old, I imagine from the beginning of the 20th century, correct?
Greetings @tibaire, thanks for your visit, it is a very beautiful park located on the banks of the Manzanares River, I like to visit it and observe the river that offers a beautiful landscape of the city center; Yes, the structure corresponds to the neoclassical design with incidence of the colonial model.

Reading your post, I felt a bit like I was walking with you along the alleys of the park. I wonder what kind of birds can be found there. Do you know maybe? I envy you the palm trees🌴 that don't grow in my country due to the too cold climate. Interesting architecture of this museum, from the outside. I'm curious what it looks like inside.
Hi @katiefreespirit, thanks for the appreciation and your visit, regularly there are birds in the trees, I have had the opportunity to see several, but I do not know their names, also on some occasions I have seen pigeons, this park is located on the banks of the Manzanares River that runs through the center of the city creating a beautiful landscape to enjoy the contact with nature.
The inside of the museum has a great design and many historical elements about the life of the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, maybe in the future I can share pictures of the inside of the museum.
Greetings!
Hi @belkyscabrera. If you want to recognize the birds from the park, I recommend the BirdNET app. I have been using it for several years and thanks to it I learned the names of various birds that I saw live and found interesting.
The museum inside seems to be cool. Would be nice to see pics of the inside someday!
Greetings 😊
Thank you very much for the recommendation I will keep it in mind for my next visits to the park, I hope in the near future to share photos of the inside of the museum, it is very beautiful and the stairs have my favorite color red wine.
Happy weekend!
Thanks 😊 Have a nice week!
