INGLÉS

Greetings friends who are lovers of architecture and design, it is a pleasure to greet you and share some of the architectural designs of the state of Sucre, which in addition to its outstanding colonial houses in the capital city and several municipalities, has different structures that are not so common and very attractive to visitors and adventure lovers, who enjoy contact with nature, as well as a dose of adrenaline; During the school vacation period I had the opportunity to visit Cedeño, a beautiful town in the Montes municipality of the aforementioned state, located in the mountainous area of the entity and the Turimiquire mountain range, the area has beautiful landscapes, a spectacular cold water river and What caught my attention the most were two hanging bridges, arranged from the main road to the entrance to Cedeño. I had previously seen hanging bridges with this design and wanted to go through them, until the opportunity came and I was able to live the beautiful experience with a little afraid at first and crossing a suspension bridge, it is a mixture of fear and courage, while I observed that the inhabitants of the town passed very calmly across the bridge, I felt relieved and made my crossing observing the river and took the opportunity to take some photos from the bridge , the view of the mountain at this point is really charming, when you reach approximately the middle of the bridge it sways a little, I didn't feel afraid, on the contrary it was very exciting and I went back several times to swing heh heh.

Two suspension bridges have been built over the river (the first dates back more than forty years) and the second is approximately eight years old. Both are located on the right bank of the Cumaná – Cumanacoa national highway, in front of which is part of the mountain covered with vegetation, the second bridge was built to improve access to the population and give the first a little rest, although both are in use, the greatest traffic is recorded on the new bridge, which is located next to the first with a distance of approximately ten (10) meters, both are preserved in good condition, I must say that between both bridges the first one is more shaky, from the moment you start walking on the platform or iron band the bridge wobbles, this It was very fun because some of the friends, with a little exaggeration and drama, held on to the side wires to avoid falling. Bridge number two is firmer and begins to sway when you have already traveled halfway; My son did enjoy crossing the bridge, it is the first time he has seen this type of bridge, very calm and comfortable he crossed to the other side of the river and in the company of the young people they helped carrying the chairs, that day the young people were the most active collaborating when looking for the utensils, as it was the perfect excuse to pass several times and feel the bridge wobble, always under the supervision of an adult, who acted as a watchman while they crossed with the utensils.

The bridges are made with iron sheets, and alfajol on the sides, at the entrance and exit of both there is a small concrete walkway and pedestals with thick tubes and iron bars that serve as a base for the guides and tubes that are the supports of the bridges, engineering definitely does incredible work with this model of bridges, which consists of two fundamental supports at the beginning and end of it, the walkway or iron platform is supported by guides located at the bottom and at the sides, these in turn come from the tubes located in the pedestals with a concrete base.

Both bridges have similar models and also different elements, the first bridge is completely straight blue, a walkway protected on both sides with alfajol and ends in a concrete walkway when you are already on dry land, meanwhile the second bridge is larger and at the end it has a small L-shaped path, from there you can go to the town and the river, below this path that also serves to protect you from the sun, you can usually find donkeys resting, these animals are used for transport crops from different zones.

In the first bridge you can see the guayas attached from the pedestals to the main tubes, also several tubes at the top of the walkway, in this element they differ a little, because the second does not have these tubes, only alfajol along the walkway and thin tubes that hold it, plus the view of the mountain and the village is spectacular, it was certainly a great day of adventure, fun and most importantly I could cross two suspension bridges and enjoy the contact with nature.

Hi @gpache, from the bridges you can appreciate a spectacular view of the mountain, I understand that in the last flood of the Manzanares river, the water rose but not to the point of covering the bridge.

Happy start of the week!

Hey @belkyscabrera you are welcome.
Thanks for using @worldmappin 😘

in my country there is also a bridge like this. even the floor was made of planks, not iron. Sometimes it is also traveled by motorbike. If your heart is not strong, your legs might tremble because they are shaking too much when crossing a bridge like that. thank you for sharing.

Ah, with planks I've seen them too, but I haven't had the chance to cross, I imagine it swings quite a bit; yes, you have to be brave to cross these bridges, they are ideal for the adventurous 🤗😀.

Greetings!

What an exhilarating architectural experience @belkyscabrera! Hanging bridges are clearly one of the most innovative ways of connecting 2 landmasses over bodies of water. Thank you for showcasing this amazing project! ☺️

Hi @archmoments, no doubt it was a nice experience to see and cross the suspension bridge, the adventurous spirit active to the maximum he, he, he, this bridge is an important point of communication for Cedeño and the towns located in the upper part of the mountain when heading to the state capital or Cumanacoa to buy supplies; the ingenuity of man makes these works possible.

Greetings!

Hanging bridges are definitely marvelous works of engineering. And although your featured project is not as modern as other infrastructures, the amount of effort, craftsmanship, and ingenuity invested in its construction is clearly seen. I can imagine your exciting adventure as the hanging bridge swayed while crossing it. It must have made your heart beat faster, right @belkyscabrera?

Greetings @storiesoferne, hanging bridges are incredible works of engineering; in the country there are several, one of the best known is the Angostura, on the Orinoco River, these in particular have their charm and invite you to show bravery, crossing it was super exciting and much more when you reach the middle when the bridge swayed, what at first scared me was a fun adventure, ah yes, it is true, the heart very accelerated by the mixture of emotions and adrenaline to the fullest; I hope to go again in the near future, it is a beautiful place for fun and adventure. 🤗☺️

Have a great day!
