La red de ferrocarril subterráneo de la ciudad de Málaga lleva unos años en marcha después de otros muchos de proyectos y obras, pero estas navidades he podido de bajar y de disfrutar de sus instalaciones. Actualmente cuenta con dos líneas que se conectan automáticamente sin necesidad de bajar del tren como si fuese una única línea. Es cierto que la utilidad de estos servicios es poder viajar a cualquier parte de la ciudad sin mayor gasto que un viaje, por lo que los ciudadanos prefieren usar otros transportes públicos como el bus, hasta que se terminen las futuras líneas que están en construcción.
The underground railway network of the city of Malaga has been in operation for a few years after many other projects and works, but this Christmas I was able to go down and enjoy its facilities. It currently has two lines that connect automatically without the need to get off the train as if it were a single line. La obra empezó con la construcción de la estación principal al Oeste de la ciudad justo al lado del complejo deportivo con el palacio de deportes de baloncesto "Martín Carpena".
The work started with the construction of the main station in the west of the city right next to the sports complex with the basketball sports centre "Martin Carpena".
Destaca la amplitud, iluminación y el acabado brillante del acero inoxidable como material usado en la terminación de las estaciones.
The spaciousness, lighting and the shiny finish of the stainless steel as the material used to finish the stations stand out.
Esta primera línea comunica la zona Oeste con el centro de la ciudad y la estación de tren nacional y cercanías.
La obra aprovechó la avenida de Velázquez por su amplitud y ser una perfecta línea recta, abaratando el precio de la construcción y sin necesidad de tunelar prácticamente y evitando obras debajo de los edificios.
This first line connects the western area with the city centre and the national and suburban train station.
The work took advantage of Avenida de Velázquez because of its width and the fact that it is a perfectly straight line, reducing the construction cost and with practically no need for tunnelling and avoiding works under the buildings.
Las instalaciones a pesar de llevar varios años abiertos al público parecen recién estrenadas por el poco uso que tiene.
The facilities, despite having been open to the public for several years, look as if they have just been used for the first time.
Esta línea cuenta con siete paradas que va desde el Palacio de los Deportes hasta el Perchel.
This line has seven stops from the Palacio de los Deportes to the Perchel.
Las paradas intermedias cuentan con escaleras mecánicas y ascensor. El acabado de las entradas están también terminadas en acero inoxidable y cuentan con todo tipo de carteles de información actualizados y están construidos de forma que no hay que dar vueltas para cambiar de sentido en los trenes al estar las dos vías juntas.
The intermediate stops have escalators and lifts. The entrances are also finished in stainless steel and have all kinds of up-to-date information signs and are constructed in such a way that there is no need to turn around to change direction on the trains as the two tracks are next to each other.

Algunas paradas usan varias plantas para el intercambio de sentido, por lo que hay que subir o bajar para ello como es el caso de la parada de la "Unión".
Some stops use several floors to change direction, so you have to get on or off to do so, as is the case at the "Union" stop.
Los trenes son de una capacidad máxima de doscientos pasajeros que actualmente es muy superior al necesario. Están decorados con el ojo fenicio, que es un símbolo de la cultura de la ciudad y de las ciudades mediterránea.
The trains have a maximum capacity of 200 passengers, which is currently much higher than necessary. They are decorated with the Phoenician eye, which is a symbol of the culture of the city and of Mediterranean cities.
El viaje es muy cómodo por estar muy nuevas y cuidadas las instalaciones. Los trenes son amplios y agradables sin apenas movimientos bruscos y aptos para personas con movilidad reducida en todas sus puertas.
The journey is very comfortable as the facilities are very new and well maintained. The trains are spacious and pleasant with hardly any sudden movements and are suitable for people with reduced mobility at all doors.
Su interior es amplio y bien insonorizado, además cuenta con información clara del viaje por sus numerosas pantallas y por voz tanto en castellano como en inglés.
The interior is spacious and well soundproofed, with clear travel information on numerous screens and voice-activated information in both English and Spanish.
La otra línea une el centro de la ciudad con la universidad y el parque tecnológico. Una línea con más uso por los estudiantes y los trabajadores además de estar muy cerca el hospital universitario.
The other line links the city centre with the university and the technology park. This line is used more by students and workers and is very close to the university hospital.
Las futuras líneas unirán la red suburbana con el norte de la ciudad y otra con la parte este, siendo mucho más usado por la cantidad de opciones de transporte darán a los ciudadanos.
The future lines will link the suburban network with the north of the city and another with the eastern part of the city, being much more used because of the amount of transport options they will give to citizens.
Este gran hito en la ciudad hará reducir el tráfico de vehículos reduciendo la contaminación y el ruido quedándose una ciudad más limpia y cómoda para los peatones, ciclistas y patinetas eléctricas.
This major milestone in the city will reduce vehicle traffic, reduce pollution and noise and make the city cleaner and more comfortable for pedestrians, cyclists and electric scooters.
