Hello lovers of architecture + design and sustainable living, every step we take is important and I am happy to share with you this dream that today we are making reality, more than 2 years ago when I arrived to the community I spoke to you for the first time about the GREEN HOME, Ecological and Intelligent House, the road has been longer than expected, the pandemic arrived and with it the plans were extended, the times changed and that forced us to stop the process, but we did not abandon, we move forward and today I can say that this adventure is just beginning.
We have installed our first 40' feet container, which are 12 meters long by 2.45 meters wide, recycling a container to turn it into a container house is a housing solution that we have been seeing for some years in different countries, but for Venezuela is something innovative, it is a great challenge for us in every way because each advance is a new experience and today I will tell you a little about it and the steps we have taken to get here.
To get this first container installed, we first made the bases to install it, the purchase and the logistics of moving it.
and the logistics of moving it, it is an unknown world for this there are no guides as you can find for other construction processes so I decided to share it with you.
The Purchase:
Buying a container in Venezuela is really not as difficult as it can be in other countries where you may have to have a permit to do so, in the case of Venezuela there are official companies that work with the shipping companies where you can easily buy a container, they deliver them with all their permits and official papers, but these prices are much higher than buying them with individuals, with the money you buy a container with a company, you can buy up to 2 with an individual.
The purchase with a private individual has the benefit of saving money, but you must take care that you have the papers of the containers you buy. In our case we bought from a private individual, this is positive for the prices, but it can also be a risk if you do not have the papers, in our case we bought it with papers, this is what I recommend, never make a purchase without legal documentation, it is the only thing that will give you guarantee on the investment you are making and so you will not have problems with the transport or installation.
When purchasing with private individuals you should also evaluate the distance of the transport route, many times this can be so long that the costs are almost doubled, so do not buy the container until you have the price of transport, including full loading and unloading on site.

Shipping:
While it is much more economical to buy the containers to individuals, the issue of the experience of moving a sea container could be a little more cumbersome than we thought, when buying with a shipping company they offer you the transportation service, in our case we had to do the diligence on our own, we ourselves looked for several shipping companies and the first one we worked with was not responsible at all.
So we paid as they say in Venezuela, "the hazing", each new experience teaches us and some have extra costs, we had to pay double articulated arm service.
We had studied the transport route, we knew that the road could be a problem, as there are several narrow parts where the truck would be difficult to pass and therefore we had to go with the articulated arm in case we needed its help if it was very helpful in a very narrow space of the road for the size of the containet and the truck.
We knew that we would also have problems with some electronic service connections for cables installed at low altitude in the rural area so it was necessary to have someone on the truck to climb the cables so as not to run the risk of pulling them out with the truck, so we did and we managed to solve this problem, without affecting any service or any neighbor.
It is very important to make the preguira on the route and evaluate the size of the road, curves, possible risk areas and the height of the truck with cables, poles and bridges of the road, as well as the areas and times allowed for loading.
Installation:
To install the container on the bases was done with two articulated arms at the beginning it was believed that it could only be installed with one, so when we took it we could not install it immediately and the person we hired for this first move was not honest with us and we had to pay an operation that we did not expect, we had to pay an unplanned extra to place it on the bases already built.
This container we have placed it on the bases that were built 1.5 meters deep as a pedestal and more 50 cm high 40x40 cm, we did this thinking of continuing to grow in the not too distant future can support on these bases other containers.

Hola amantes de la arquitectura + diseño y la vida sustentable, cada paso que damos es importante y me alegra poder compartir con ustedes este sueño que hoy estamos haciendo realidad, hace mas de 2 años que al llegar a la comunidad les hable por primera vez del HOGAR VERDE, Casa Ecológica e Inteligente, el camino ha sido mas largo de lo esperado, llego la pandemia y con ella los planes se alargaron, los tiempos cambiaron y eso nos obligo a paralizar el proceso, pero no abandonamos, seguimos adelante y hoy puedo decir que esta aventura apenas comienza.
Tenemos instalado nuestro primer Container de 40' pies, que son 12 metros de largo por 2,45 metros ancho, reciclar un contenedor para convertirlo en una casa container es una solución habitacional que desde algunos años estamos viendo en diferentes Países, pero para Venezuela es algo innovador, es un gran reto para nosotros en todos los sentidos ya que cada avance es una nueva experiencia y hoy les contare un poco sobre ella y los pasos que hemos dado para llegar hasta aquí.
Ya que para lograr instalareste primer container antes hicimos las bases para instalarlo , la compra
y logistica de traslado, es un mundo algo desconocido para esto no existen guías como se pueden encontrar de otros procesos constructivos así que decidi compartilo con ustedes.
La Compra:
Comprar un contenedor en Venezuela realmente no es tan difícil, como lo puede ser en otros Países donde quizás debas de tener algún permiso para hacerlo, en el caso de Venezuela hay empresas oficiales que trabajan con las Navieras donde puedes adquirir fácilmente un contenedor, ellos los entregan con todos sus permisos y papeles oficiales, pero estos precios son mucho mas elevados que el de adquirirlos con particulares, con el dinero que compras un contenedor con una empresa, puedes comprar hasta 2 con un particular.
La compra con un particular tiene el beneficio del ahorro, pero de igual manera debes de cuidar que tengas los papeles de los contenedores que compres. En nuestro caso le compramos a un particular, esto es positivo por los precios, pero también puede ser un riego si no tienes los papeles, en nuestro caso lo compramos con papeles, esto es lo que recomiendo, nunca hagas una compra sin documentación legal, es ,lo unico que te dará garantia sobre la inversión que estas haciendo y así no tener luego problemas con el transporte o instalación.
Al hacer la compra con particulares también debes evaluar la distancia de la ruta de transporte, muchas veces esta puede ser tan larga que los costos se elevan casi al doble , así que no compres el contenedor hasta tener el precio del transporte, incluyendo la carga y descarga completa en el sitio.

El Translado:
Si bien es mucho mas economico comprarle los contenedores a particulares, el tema de la experiencia de traslado de un contenedor maritimo pondría ser un poco mas engorroso de lo que pensamos, al comprar con una naviera ellos te ofrecen el servicio de transporte, en nuestro caso nos toco hacer la diligencia por nuestra cuenta, nosotros mismos buscamos varias compañias de transporte y la primera con la que trabajamos no fue nada responsable.
Así que pagamos como se dice en Venezuela, "la novatada", cada nueva experiencia nos enseña y algunas tienen costos extras,nos toco pagar doble servicio de brazo articulado.
Habiamos estudiado la ruta de transporte, sabiamos que la vía podría ser un problema, ya que hay varias partes estrechas donde la gandola se le dificultaría pasar y por ello debiamos ir junto al Brazo articulado por si era necesario su ayuda si fue de mucha ayuda en un espacio muy estrecho de la via para el tamaño del containet y la gandola.
Sabiamos que también tendríamos el problemas con algunas conexiones del servicio electrónicos por cables instalados a baja altura en la zona rural por lo que era necesario tener a alguien sobre la gandola que subiera los cables para no correr el riesgo arrancarlos a pasar con la gandola, así lo hicimos y logramos solventarlo este problema , sin afectar a ningún servicio o algún vecino.
Es muy importante hacer la preguira en la ruta y evaluar ,los tamaños del camino , curvas , posibles zonas de riesgo y la altura de la gandola con cables , postes y puentes del camino, así como las zonas y horarios permitidos de carga.
La Instalación:
Para lograr instalar el container en las bases se hizo con dos brazos articulados al inicio se creia que solo se podría con uno, por lo que al llevarlo no pudimos instalarlo de inmediato y la persona que contratamos para este primer translado no fue honesta con nosotros y tuvimos que pagar una operación que no esperamos, tuvimos que pagar un extra no planificado para lograr colocarlo en las bases ya construidas.
Este contenedor lo hemos colocado sobre las bases que se construyeron de 1,5 metros de profundidad como pedestal y mas 50 cm de altura de 40x40 cm, esto lo hicimos así pensando en seguir creciendo en un futuro no muy lejano pudiendo apoyar en estas bases otros contenedores.

We have looked for other container houses in Venezuela and we don't know of any, so you can say that we are pioneers in VIDA VERDE with the construction of the HOGAR VERDE .
There are 2 companies on IG promoting themselves as builders of Container Houses, but when you talk to them about seeing a project they don't have any built.
As I commented in the publication prices vary depending on the location and if it is with company or individuals there is no standard price in the case of Caracas which is an area with nearby ports ranging from $ 2,500 onwards not including transport loading and unloading.

Here in Venezuela in Arquitectura en Container there are also some stores, a small hotel and a cultural park, the latter is a decade old and was designed by one of our architects Alejandro Haike.
