Today I'm going to talk about some of the artworks that are around my workplace. As I said when I first joined hive, that I work in the management of a mall, namely Gandaria City. Here there are several sculptures of art that are placed in several places.
I'm a person who doesn't really understand art, but there are some arts that I like. For some reason, when I saw it I felt amazed at its creator. Every time I walked past these statues, I would pause. Even though it's been hundreds of times, I'm still amazed every time I see these statues.
All right, I'll just show you one by one.
SO HYUN WOO
Cruel Fairy Tale 2-1, 2-22010
2010
Hyun-woo is emphasizing the transformation of fairytales from the child's world to that of adults. A fairy-tale is made for children's dream's. Neverthless, this story deos not tell of dreams, but rather of repression, unwritten rules, a story about taboos and prohibitions.Thus hyun woo creates a victios tale, each telling reflection a negative perception of reality. When the story turns into a lie, the unwritting realityof nature describes the principles of reality.

This Art is my favorite. I don't know why, but I think that the creator is really a genius to be able to make such good work. It's an incredibly beautiful work. This statue is located on the 1st floor, more precisely near the guardian shop.

Myth Venus
2005
The 'Venus Myth' statue refers specifically to the british super model Kate Moss who was very famous in the early 1990's. This statue positions Moss as Venus, the Goddess of beauty, in the socio-cultural context of todays mass media and consumerism, a time when information and consumption are driven by image rather than reality, by myth rather science.
Like Venus, Moss became a popular figure, an ideal, but simultaneously, mysterious and distant, because in fact the is little we truly grasp and there of. Althogh he brings forth our memories of the idealised figure of Venus from the reportoire of classical western cultural, Quinn also conjures up contemporary issues.

This is also one of my favourites. I often thought, how could someone make a statue as large and detailed as this, truly extraordinary. For this statue, it is placed in the main lobby or north lobby.
