How was your day?
This is one of the best-selling restaurants in the Dontonburi area which is visited by many Indonesians in Osaka because it has a menu that can be consumed by the Indonesian tongue. When I was there, the restaurant had a large queue of customers. I queued for 30 minutes, and when we were there we weren't allowed to linger.
But I'm not here to discuss the food, but rather the very authentic Japanese architecture of Sukiya Restauran. The Sukiya Restaurant building is not very large, it can only accommodate 20 customers at a time.
Restaurants in Japan have unique buildings. Maybe for you, finding the characteristics of a Japanese restaurant is not difficult in Indonesia, but when you arrive in Japan, the ornaments they use are not as many as Japanese restaurants in Indonesia, including this Sukiya restaurant. In terms of building, it looked like a normal building with posters displaying their menus.
When I finally made it inside, I couldn't take a proper photo because there were so many customers inside. You know Japanese people guard their privacy so much that I'm afraid to go around when everyone is so hungry.
OK, let's start with this part. This is the main part of Sukiya Restaurant, where customers sit at tables in this bar concept. From this place we can see the activities of chefs and waiters. However, sitting in this section, we have to eat quickly because there are still a lot of queues. Usually customers who come alone choose to sit here.
If you look at the furniture, Sukiya uses a high table made of wood. Oh yes, we do self service here, so there will be no waiter to take our order. We have to order it ourselves via the tablet or monitor.
In my opinion, this is the most unique part. Similar to other eating places, Sukiya also provides space for customers who go out with their friends. This customer space has around 10 tables and chairs. Uniquely, the chairs they use are made of rattan.
In the right side, there is a wall with a big painting. I thought it was just a photo about how the Sukiya's restaurant begin. The hanging lights look simple.
Another fact about restaurants in Japan is that there are no floor seating areas, as we usually see in anime.
Restaurant Sukiya feels homey. If you go there in winter, their heaters work well so you don't have to get cold.
The special thing about this restaurant is about the food that they were served. It was so delicious and made everyone will revisit again, like I have done. When you go to Osaka, don't forget to visit Sukiya Restaurant, the authentic restaurant in Japan.
Even if you come with a partner, friends, family, people in Japan are very careful about their voices so that even when you are in a busy restaurant, you will only hear the sound of cutlery clinking together. No fuss.
