The day I moved to the city of Caracas, 10 years ago this coming September, I realized that my new area would be the Capitol. My first impression when I came out of the subway was to see up close this palace where the national assembly functions. It is definitely an imposing architecture, with dream designs for lovers of large buildings. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting its facilities and I have been amazed with so much beauty.
This place is in the center of the city, but it is impossible to pass, the security is extreme, in fact many times they do not allow to walk in its vicinity. Everything has happened here, from the greatest injustices that have been done in Venezuela, to seeing our main politicians physically attacking each other on national television and even the reason why I had the pleasure of entering its facilities, which was to approve July 15 as the National Day of Choral Singing. With great happiness the main musical representatives sang the National Anthem of Venezuela in those stairs in front of the famous dome that honors our flag.
Of course, in spite of the importance of the event, we did not see all the spaces of the palace, but we did enter the Protocol Hemicycle, which is the one you can see in the photograph above. I deduced that it is not the only hall with this design, since in spite of the resemblance, it is not the one I have generally seen on television for so many years, there are slight differences between this and the hemicycle of sessions. Besides, the dome is above the latter, but since they are practically the same, I felt the experience of having visited both spaces hehehe...
Even the corridors you walk through are a luxury, worthy of what it represents, which is the legislative power of Venezuela. Although as always, what caught my attention the most was the contrast with the vegetation. In the center of the palace there is a large courtyard with a beautiful fountain in the center. It has many well-kept gardens that contrast with the architecture and the blue sky, definitely an exquisite experience for lovers of buildings; I share below some photos I took so you understand what I mean:
Over the years I have been losing my taste for the little I cared about the politics of Venezuela, it is no longer worth talking about the subject, in fact I thought about it to attend this event, but besides the excitement of entering this palace that I have admired so much from outside, it was very important what was going to be done, practically choral singing has been my niche in life, and I had to be present even on behalf of my whole family, those who are and those who have gone, like my dad and my uncle Carlos, who did so much for the choral movement of Aragua. It is beautiful that now there is this day to exalt music and it is very gratifying to have been part of a historic moment for us, because that is how we have celebrated it. The best of all is that my visit did not have to coincide with any undesirable politician, whether from the right or the left 😂
These photographs were taken with my Tecno Pova II and I did not edit them so that you can fully appreciate what I have seen with my own eyes. Not everyone has the privilege of entering this place, so I share with much affection what little I was allowed to capture. The last photo left below was taken by a fellow tenor, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph myself in such a famous and important post. Thank you very much for reading my post...
What an honor it must be to visit this historic monument of the city of Caracas. Its structure looks imposing and very elegant. Inside it also looks magnificent. It's a luxury to live in Caracas, especially in the vicinity of several major architectural structures.
It could not be better said. Caracas is an open museum, just looking out of the apartment window is enough to delight and discover new architectural horizons. Thank you very much for your words Rosana...
Wow this is so beautiful, i thought it was only in Nigeria where politicians fight themselves openly on television, i dont know it's everywhere. This is a great opportunity for you entering the luxurious place
Hahaha, that's right brother, I think our countries can shake hands on politics and politicians. I can enjoy this beautiful palace because I am in the capital, I don't know if you are near the area of your Capitol, it would be interesting to see how everything is over there!...
I am close there but i don't have the opportunity to enter there but i hope one day opportunity will come for me to get there
Hi @jesuslnrs, without a doubt a great work of architecture and design, the gardens and green areas contrast very well with the building, the details in the columns and sculptures give it a great style, the dome looks imposing; I liked the fountain and its golden sculptures; you had a great opportunity to visit this icon of Venezuelan architecture and it is also the seat of the legislative branch of the nation; the spaces look very clean and tidy.
Greetings!
Hello friend!. After having been there I understand perfectly that it is a palace and they give it the importance it deserves. I loved that they took such good care of it, I had high expectations before going in, but the experience was better than I thought. Thank you so much for visiting the inside of the assembly together with me through this post...
Amazing, it is undoubtedly a great heritage that belongs to all Venezuelans, but few will have the opportunity to know it. The facade is so beautiful, full of details and decorations. I'm glad you had a good time here and enjoyed yourself without running into any politicians.
Likewise my friend, I really went with a little reluctance, but it was a very peaceful day and the reason that brought us together in that place was a reason of love, peace and lots of music. I insist that it is a privilege to be there. Thank you very much for your words, I send you a hug!...

A lot of buildings in the country is truly mesmerizing especially the government ones.
Hello Mac! 😘 You are very right, I believe that architects put their greatest ideas and all their talent when it comes to government buildings. For us design viewers it is very pleasant just to see the finished works. I send you a hug from old Venezuela 🫂
