Greetings to all!
Over the last two posts in the community, I described the interior of this magnificent museum and the works of art it houses. However, these are not only limited to being behind its doors. Around the mansion we can also appreciate some of them. In front of the garden, up some marble steps, there is a large terrace with some chairs and tables. In the center, there is a marble sculpture, representing a beautiful woman holding a wreath of flowers. All of these sculptures have floral details, both on her attire and on her hands, reflecting the connection with nature and bringing a nice element of delicacy and sensuality. On this terrace, my girl and I sat down to rest for a while, as we had walked quite a bit inside the museum. But, the resting didn't last long because right away my little girl saw something that really caught her attention. From where we were, we could see at the end of the garden an entrance leading to a large square. Guarding the entrance, on two rocks, were two fierce dogs with large fangs and unfriendly attitude, even so, we approached. My girl is very brave and even put her hand in the mouth of one of them, I not so much, and I approached more cautiously! Jaja. The museum custodian told us that the children were always afraid when they saw these big dogs, but for Maria Claudia it was pure fun. Past this entrance, there is a large courtyard, and on the ground you can see a narrow canal bordering it, where water must have once flowed. It seemed to me that it was a kind of pond. Nowadays, with the economic problems that the country is going through, it is a little difficult to maintain this site. That is why some sculptures are a little deteriorated and some humidity stains due to the lack of paint on the walls. After having seen the Garden of the North, we headed towards the one on the right side of the house, the Garden of the Seasons. This section is better preserved. Here there are four large sculptures from the 19th century, made of Italian marble, representing the four seasons of the year: Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer. Between them there are several benches where we sat down to rest and admire the beauty of the place. The sculptures are elegant and beautiful, bright white. The one I liked the most was the one representing winter. It has a male figure in an attitude of covering himself from the cold with his wide tunic, which seems to move along with the winter wind. At the back of this garden on one side there is a construction that appeared to me to be a fountain. A large fountain that would have looked fantastic if it had had water. It has in its center a sculpture that resembles rocks and on top of them two big fishes that I thought were where the water should flow. I really wish I could have seen it working, it would have looked even more beautiful. My little girl had a lot of fun playing in this large yard. Everything amazed her, and she thought she was the princess of the castle. My husband, who accompanied us, and I, left the museum very impressed. We both agreed that we should return another time, as it is impossible to capture all the details and splendor of the place in one visit. This is an amazing place. So much for my last post about the Museum of Decorative Arts. I hope you enjoyed this reading as much as the previous ones.
The entire mansion is surrounded by a high fence with detailed and elaborate ironwork, inside there is a large garden where we find beautiful sculptures that complement the beauty of the place. Leaving the museum, we go first to the left side, where the Garden of the Night is located. On this side along with the sculptures, there are several "tinajones", symbols of our identity. These large earthenware vessels, formerly used to store rainwater, are now placed as ornaments in the exteriors and gardens of houses and buildings. From the sculptures you can admire their elegant posture, and their details with different textures.
Un saludo a todos.

It is so beautiful this place, majestic completely, I loved the sculptures, the one of the dog is quite realistic. Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comment, I really liked the ones with the dogs, they're a little scary jeje.
I recommend that when you come to visit Havana you visit the museum, I'm sure you'll love it. It's better to go than to see it in photos. Thanks for your kind comment!
Arts is such an integral part of human development it tells a very beautiful story, it is like a window into the souls of people who lived thousands of years ago. Indeed I'm a student the of arts. Amazing photography
Hello
I'm glad you liked my publication. I agree with what you say about Art and it's a pity that many people don't feel the same way as you do. Do you know what shocks me most about the museums I have visited? That almost none of them have visitors, this day there were only us, people don't visit museums anymore.
Thats sad, we are so focused on tomorrow that we forget that the past was what got us here in the first place.
How beautiful the exterior of the Museum of Decorative Arts is, what a beautiful place, I have to go. Excellent pictures!!
Thank you, I hope you can go soon!
