Notre Dame is a landmark, a medieval icon that raises passions, although, unfortunately, the true wisdom, the true legacy of the medieval stonemasons who raised it, was largely lost, after the tremendous damage caused during the Revolution. French. Its current appearance is largely due to the great restorer Viollet-le-Duc, but as for the symbolic references, although he did what he could, many of them are current and not always respecting the original models. Still, there is no doubt that this cathedral continues to arouse passions. And one detail to keep in mind: France is so proud of this cathedral that after the terrifying fire a couple of years ago, it alone was able to unite a country in a common goal. That, I think, says it all. Kind regards

Hello @juancar347. There's profound truth in everything that you said. As with other historical monuments, they are sometimes shrouded in dark mysteries that would never see the light of day. Such urban legends become myths, gossips, and then are eventually shifted to becoming common stories seldom spread through the grapevine. The mere fact that the Nore Dame Cathedral is a product of centuries of alterations, renovations, and improvements simply explains the landmark's epic value, physically, emotionally, and spiritually - embodying itself as a beloved French icon and global architectural darling most of us have learned to love. And that alone is enough to win the hearts of many. Have a safe, healthy, and productive week! 😊
