Ayer, miércoles, 09 de junio de este año pandémico de 2021, mi amada esposa y yo decidimos salir a pasear por los alrededores del Municipio Chacao y al hacerlo nos encontramos con la bendición de que el Templo estaba abierto. Nos acercamos a la puerta de entrada y pudimos observar que en ese momento estaba expuesto al público El Santísimo Sacramento, por lo que acordamos pasar y arrodillarnos varios minutos frente a la Custodia, uno de los símbolos sagrados y mas respetado de la Iglesia Católica y en el que creemos por fe que es nuestro Señor Jesucristo en la hostia consagrada; además, aprovechamos para conocer el interior de esa icónica Iglesia.

Yesterday, Wednesday, June 9 of this pandemic year of 2021, my beloved wife and I decided to go for a walk around the Chacao Municipality and in doing so we were blessed that the Temple was open. We approached the entrance door and could see that at that time the Blessed Sacrament was exposed to the public, so we agreed to pass and kneel for several minutes in front of the Custody, one of the sacred and most respected symbols of the Catholic Church and in the one that we believe by faith that it is our Lord Jesus Christ in the consecrated host; In addition, we take the opportunity to get to know the interior of that iconic Church.

Para continuar con este paseo creo conveniente hacer un breve recorrido histórico para ubicarnos mejor y así apreciar con facilidad la información aquí suministrada.
Parte de los terrenos donde está construida esta Plaza, eran de la hacienda San Diego, que data de los años 1767 donde su dueña para ese entonces era Doña Rosa Pantoja. Doña Rosa ofreció parte de estos terrenos para que se iniciara la construcción del pueblo, de su Plaza Real o Mayor y la Iglesia. Para el año de 1768, el 19 de abril, autoridades civiles y militares, vecinos y el resto del pueblo, se reunieron para dar por fundado el pueblo bajo la protección de San José.
NOTA CURIOSA: La actual estatua ecuestre que está colocada en la Plaza Bolívar de Chacao es de reciente data, fue develada el 20 de Mayo de 1995, durante la primera gestión municipal de la Alcaldesa Irene Sáez Conde, la obra es del Artista Arturo Rus Aguilera, quien realizó una copia de la escultura original realizada por el escultor Adamo Todolini, que se encuentra en la ciudad de Lima, capital de Perú y muy parecida a la que está en la Plaza Bolívar de Caracas, capital de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, se calcula que pesa cinco (5) toneladas y mide 4 metros de alto por 1,8 metros de ancho. En el año 1998, el 19 de enero, inexplicablemente esta estatua se cae y el 21 del mismo año fue llevado a la localidad de Guatire donde queda el taller del artista y conocido por el autor del post Julio César Briceño Andrade, para su debida restauración.

Part of the land where this Plaza is built, belonged to the San Diego farm, which dates back to 1767 where its owner at that time was Doña Rosa Pantoja. Doña Rosa offered part of these lands to start the construction of the town, its Plaza Real or Mayor and the Church. For the year 1768, on April 19, civil and military authorities, neighbors and the rest of the town, met to declare the town founded under the protection of San José.
CURIOUS NOTE: The current equestrian statue that is placed in the Plaza Bolívar de Chacao is of recent date, it was unveiled on May 20, 1995, during the first municipal administration of the Mayor Irene Sáez Conde, the work is by the Artist Arturo Rus Aguilera , who made a copy of the original sculpture made by the sculptor Adamo Todolini, which is located in the city of Lima, capital of Peru and very similar to the one in Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, capital of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, It is estimated that it weighs five (5) tons and measures 4 meters high by 1.8 meters wide. In 1998, on January 19, this statue inexplicably fell and on the 21 of the same year it was taken to the town of Guatire where the artist's workshop is located and known by the author of the post Julio César Briceño Andrade, for its proper restoration.

Según la información recopilada, la parroquia eclesiástica San José de Chacao, mejor conocida como la Iglesia de San José de Chacao, es la pionera de las iglesias católicas del municipio Chacao. Fue establecida en 1769 y posee un estilo colonial español con elementos de estilo barroco. Se ubica frente a la Plaza Bolívar. La Iglesia depende de la Arquidiócesis de Caracas. Fue construida en los mismos terrenos donados por Doña Rosa Pantoja, dueña de la antigua Hacienda San Diego, de la que hablamos en el párrafo anterior.

According to the information collected, the San José de Chacao ecclesiastical parish, better known as the Church of San José de Chacao, is the pioneer of the Catholic churches of the Chacao municipality. It was established in 1769 and has a Spanish colonial style with elements of Baroque style. It is located in front of the Plaza Bolívar. The Church depends on the Archdiocese of Caracas. Debo confesar que quise investigar mucho mas sobre la construcción de la Iglesia original y no encontré datos mas allá de los que les presenté en la breve reseña histórica. Sin embargo, decidí publicar este post para que pudieran apreciar parte de nuestros monumentos históricos que existen en nuestra ciudad. Mi esposa y yo, nunca habíamos entrado a la Iglesia y lo hicimos en un momento sagrado de veneración el cual aprovechamos para tener un encuentro espiritual con Dios, siendo que ambos profesamos la fe católica. A modo de conclusión debo decir que nos gustó el paseo porque juntos somos felices, ella y yo siempre caminamos tomados de las manos y disfrutamos mucho pasear; por mas humilde o sencillo que sea el sitio visitado, siempre sacamos la mejor experiencia, por esa razón podemos afirmar que estar en la Plaza Bolívar de Chacao o dentro de la Iglesia deja una bonita sensación de paz y armonía espiritual. I must confess that I wanted to investigate much more about the construction of the original Church and I did not find data beyond what I presented in the brief historical review. However, I decided to publish this post so that you could appreciate part of our historical monuments that exist in our city. My wife and I had never entered the Church and we did so in a sacred moment of veneration which we took advantage of to have a spiritual encounter with God, since we both profess the Catholic faith. By way of conclusion I must say that we liked the walk because together we are happy, she and I always walk hand in hand and we really enjoy walking; no matter how humble or simple the visited site is, we always get the best experience, for that reason we can affirm that being in the Plaza Bolívar de Chacao or inside the Church leaves a beautiful feeling of peace and spiritual harmony. I love that you asked me that question because my wife and I agreed on some details: the golden pulpit caught our attention immediately, the altarpiece, also golden, of the main altar is very beautiful, the stained glass windows that function as a skylight or skylight, They are also very decorative, the wooden ceilings, similar to the original ceilings of the Church ... but there was a modern detail that, in particular, caught my attention because it seemed to me that it was not adequate and that it took away the beauty of the interior of the temple, that detail I could not show it here due to the poor connection and constant internet failures, that detail is a spiral staircase and also a lattice, which is located at the entrance of the left side nave (North) that is used to access the church choir. Me encanta que me hayas hecho esa pregunta porque mi esposa y yo coincidimos en algunos detalles: el púlpito dorado nos llamó la atención de inmediato, el retablo, también dorado, del altar mayor es muy bonito, los vitrales que funcionan como tragaluz o claraboya, además son muy decorativos, los techos de madera, similares a los techos originales de la Iglesia... pero hubo un detalle moderno que, en lo particular, me llamó la atención porque me pareció que no era adecuado y que le quitaba belleza al interior del templo, ese detalle no logré mostrarlo aquí por la mala conexión y constantes fallas de internet, ese detalle es una escalera tipo caracol y además enrejada, que está ubicada en la entrada de la nave lateral izquierda (Norte) que la utilizan para acceder al coro de la Iglesia. (Anexo fotografía). A mi esposa le encantaron las lámparas.
