Good evening, HIVE friends, who have inspired us all about beautiful building designs in your country, which of course are not only luxurious and have a deep impression, but are inseparable from the culture and history attached to the places you visit. the. Some I see are more happy by sharing unique cafe designs, some friends in this community also share many historical places with classic buildings, and I am one of those who like to share classic and unique buildings which usually have historical value.
And tonight I will share a historical building which is still functioning and well cared for, and even now its construction continues to develop without removing the main building itself so that the historical flavor that is left in this building is still very attached. This building is the Almatsun Grand Mosque which is located on Jalan Medan Kota District Court. And I often visit this great mosque because around this great mosque there are very good rujak sellers, not just one seller but lots of delicious rujak sellers around this Al Matsun Raya mosque. After buying rujak, we usually pray and rest at this Al Matsun Grand Mosque before continuing our journey with our next destinations.
The Al Matsun Grand Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the city of Medan. If at first glance, this mosque is indeed very magnificent, even so the splendor attached to this mosque does not prevent the eye from seeing that this mosque is a mosque with classic design and architecture and emphasizes that this mosque has been built for a long time compared to other mosques. - the mosque that is around this Raya Al Matsun Mosque. This Almatsun Raya Mosque was founded in 1906, it is very old, of course. Even though this mosque is an old mosque, the splendor of this mosque is worth considering, with a classic design that has a historical story from the Malay Deli kingdom at that time.
From the main gate to the main mosque, we will walk about 300 meters. Because this page is quite large. The design of the gate itself is aligned with the main building of the mosque, with the dominant green and white paint this building is still quite well maintained and kept clean.. if we look from a distance on the walls of this mosque there is a blue list, it's not paint but is ceramic that has a motif classic, and now there are no ceramic motifs like this anymore, and because there are no ceramic motifs like this anymore, this ceramic has a high enough value to be enjoyed, especially for those who understand the art of building design.
It's not only the tiles on the walls that are a concern, the floor tiles also have very classic motifs and I really like this, everything is still very well cared for and very clean. On the walls in the ceramic design with classic motifs, they still dominate with the brown color of the flowers and on top of the ceramics there are ornaments in the style of classic Malay tribes with distinctive colors showing the greatness of the Malay tribe. And let's take a look at the lights above it, the ornaments are still the same as the classic style which still really shows its luxury as if the designs in this mosque want to show its own class, the roof designs that decorate this lamp are actually made of boards that are shaped in such a way neatly so as to form a motif that is very unique and shows its own luxury.
And on each roof on the side terraces it also has its own carvings which are not far from Malay tribal customs which are very thick here and once again the roof designs on this terrace are made of wood, not PVC or the like, and this is very durable because has not had any changes since the process of building this mosque.
What do you think, do you like the design of this mosque? You can conclude it yourself according to the documents I shared, and I'm sure you will like it. Greetings and warm greetings from us Tomi and Maya from the city of Binjai, Indonesia

Greetings @maytom, the mosque has many details to observe the design is impressive, the main door has a design that resembles the petals of flowers, the construction according to what is pointed out on the plaque is over 100 years old and is very well preserved, how many times a year do you visit this mosque, .
The walls contain so many details and designs that you could spend several hours looking at each one carefully.
Happy and blessed day!
thank you @belkyscabrera , you are right and I am very comfortable in this place
The mosques usually have a great level of detail in their constructions, I love the arches of their doors or entrances and windows, they are simply wonderful.
It was good to learn more about the world through this post. Thanks for sharing. Greetings!
you are right @dinaaczib and many non muslim visitors come to this place to play in the mosque yard
What a majestic mosque dear @maytom! I'm simply amazed by its sheer grandeur, most especially by the intricate architectural details it has successfully preserved despite its old age. 😊
Do you have any idea why some classic ceramic motifs in the interiors don't exist anymore? Are they that difficult to replicate?
Times have changed @storiesoferne , so have people's tastes. most people already use Granite which has a size of 60 cm x 60 cm. no longer using old-style tiles or ceramics that show the antiquity of our buildings.
Oh yeah, you're absolutely right @maytom. Those ceramic motifs were past architectural trends and don't appeal to the current generations anymore. Yet, who knows? Those signature styles might come back again someday, just like the fashion industry. 😊

You have explained the exterior and interior architectural features of a very beautiful mosque. Especially, as I see, the arched doors, windows and other places of mosques look very beautiful. The shape of the ceramic tiles used for the floor can also be seen in the temples of our country. What attracted me the most were the beautiful designs on the ceiling and wall. Thanks for share impressive architectural features of this mosque via this content.
Thank you for your comment @madushanka
Al Matsun Mosque is a great mosque that has a long history, maintaining the building style from when it was built and still being preserved is a good story. Thanks for sharing.
