Let's see the progress of the construction of the train station in the capital of North Sumatra, namely Medan.

Everything has its time, that's what I got from this phenomenon. Do you know the place I'm sharing is a train station in Medan City. In the 90s to early 2000s in Medan and the small towns around it including the city of Binjai where I live, the community was very unenthusiastic about taking public transportation, especially trains, the reason being that it was not effective and efficient for those with high mobility including me. because in those years the trains in my city including Medan still had very few schedules so if I waited for the next train schedule I would be late for college at that time because I was still studying at that time so I preferred private vehicles.

And look what's happening now you see how crowded the train passengers are today, this is because there have been many changes in management starting from the departure schedule, ticketing system and improvement of the station which is more comfortable and not careless. Then the construction of this train also takes into account the local culture so that it has the impression that the development that has modernization should not ignore the existing cultural values.

For example, for example, in each pillar at this train station, it is an ordinary pillar, but something special happens here because in the middle of the pillar they design it by placing a batik design in the middle of the pillar. This Batik design is a typical cloth pattern in the Batak tribe of North Sumatra with its distinctive colors, namely black and red. The striking color is even more striking because the dominant color of the pillar given is a calm color so that the Batik design that is deliberately highlighted here is successfully highlighted well. And overall these pillars also have the same abstract pattern that surrounds the pillar.

Not only on the pillars, cultural nuances are also found on the walls in one corner of this train station, the walls that have been covered with ceramics are decorated with partitions that have the same Abstract Batik pattern as those on the pillars, the choice of dark brown in this motif emphasizes the luxurious image of the design of this train station and from this partition we can see some of the passenger activities there.

Not only that, this Medan train station also managed to enliven several corners of the building so that passengers waiting for the train schedule do not feel bored, for example, several corners of the walls there are decorated with murals. This mural is themed on a rural landscape with a passing train. And this corner of the train station is my favorite to relieve boredom. Where besides we can see this beautiful mural, below it there is a well-maintained fish pond. We can see these fish wriggling their bodies. And this is really a very good use of space.

In addition, the progress of the spatial layout in this train station also needs a thumbs up because it looks spacious and neat, the visitor chairs, the place to charge our cellphones are here, everything is very well maintained and this is really quite rapid progress in the railways in the capital city of my province. Namely Medan City.

Then when we exit the station, the train icon is not left behind there. And what is displayed here is an old train that is no longer used and has been repainted so that it really becomes an icon at this train station. around this icon is given a little mini park to perfect the existing outdoor design. And this train station itself is flanked by office buildings that have their own uniqueness and these buildings are designs from the legacy of the Dutch East Indies era in the city of Medan. if I visit the city of Medan again and I can stop by, I will share the specialness of these office designs one by one because this is also a building with many historical stories in it. greetings from maytom, Indonesia
