Viewing the Sidihoni Hill Church, Samosir Island, North Sumatra

There are many stories about my journey to make this post. of course because when I wanted to see what kind of buildings were there it made me curious. This building is at the top of a hill so to get to this building anyone has to climb and there are no flat roads there. This place went viral because of its verdant views and in a hilly area and because it was in a hilly area, we had explored many places so my leg strength was getting less and less, then when I was there the sun seemed to be right above my head. so this really feels like a struggle.

when I was at the bottom of the hill I could see a building with a cross on its roof which indicated that the building was a church, but because the church was located at the top and I was at the bottom it was blocked by the hills so I didn't know how the church was designed and how the church was built without any other buildings around it, there was only one church there and that made me even more curious and wanted to immediately climb the hill to find out the design of this church.

walk slowly up this green hill while enjoying the views and of course not forgetting to document some photos as a souvenir that I have been to this place, and after walking for 15 minutes with many stops I arrived at the top of the hill and saw this church what I judge from all the buildings that I have posted in this community is that this church has a very simple design. In fact, there is no design that emphasizes anything so that this church becomes special.

From the front, the design is like the houses of the residents in the surrounding areas, there are only a few buildings that stand out like chimneys and above them are made the sign of a cross. and this chimney was what was visible from the bottom of the hill when I was standing. The white color that 100 percent dominates the walls of the church without any list or combination of other colors makes the church look as if it is out of style, even at the back of the church there are still walls that have not been painted and maybe they have run out of funds to complete the paint. then switching from the color of the walls, now the color of the doors and windows and the wooden pillars are made in mocha brown. then the color of the roof is made with dark maroon red or I often say rust color because this color is so that the rust that appears later can be camouflaged with the existing paint color.

The window design is also very simple and the floor is only made with ceramics measuring 40 x 40 cm with a very simple old pattern too. So what makes this church unique? What makes this building impressive is the design that was made directly from nature which makes this very simple church building into a very luxurious building, even among the local residents, when Sunday comes for worship, this church is full and many congregants are praying in the church hall. . Worship at this place is very special. The wind that blows feels fresh on the body and of course those who pray here are much wiser. Even the congregation who had carried out their worship were not in a hurry to go home to enjoy the carvings and designs from the creator which were so perfect in their eyes without the slightest flaw.

What do you think. The simple design of a building that is packaged very neatly in a beautiful place like this makes a very simple building become a very luxurious building so that I don't dare underestimate this design from my own perspective. What do you think.
