RE: A NAZI FLAK TOWER - Its Amazing Transformation into an Aqua Terra Zoo [Haus Des Meeres, Vienna]

Well, the people knew about the towers´s past and because it is dangerous to demolish these towers taking into consideration that there are buildings surrounding them, the government didn´t want to take the risks and made no actions til now, the cost to demolish one tower is enorm calculated at 100M Euros. One of the bunkers is already reserved for the government personnel and others were rented out to a pharmaceutical company for storage purposes.

Yeah, I could imagine how word of mouth could easily spread not only to that city's local population but also to foreign visitors who could just ask around when they're there. And you're right, speaking of these towers' bunker-type constructions, their demolitions would surely exceed the costs of starting from scratch. Hence, their repurposed renovations ended up as more logical decisions. 😊
