RE: Visita Iglesia to the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels

It's such a wonderful tradition this Visita Iglesia, since I love visiting churches. But living in a small settlement, it would be a little difficult to find 7 churches to visit 🙂.
Anyway. You're showing us an unusual building here again. As much as I like the old and stone medieval temples, I also like the modern ones, which with their eccentric, unconventional and unusual design seem to come to tell us that God can be worshiped not only in strictly defined and traditional places, where all rules, traditions and rituals are observed. That you can honor it not only in the dark old temple, but also in the new, modern building, lit with natural light (I notice that the new and modern church buildings aim for just that - the design to provide natural light)
Something must show human progress. And it is evident exactly here - in the change of the buildings. And it is evident in the change in the design of the churches. So, you show us here a wonderful example of human progress. 😊

We are blessed to have many churches nearby in close proximity to each other. The cathedral wasn't expected to be that modern, many architects including Frank Gehry submitted their designs but the archdiocese chose a unique one.
I agree with you that even religious practices and traditions evolve with the times.
