"Spirit of the Place"...of the Space. Yet I would go beyond.
I fully understand this theory from your wonderful post and support it, but I now have other things in mind. I mean, when you wrote "they also have a life of their own", then other things came to my mind. Because I've always said that stones are like living beings. Maybe that's why I've always been attracted to stone buildings. And the figure of the stonemason leaving mysterious marks on the walls and columns of buildings is always shrouded in mystery (you know, Freemasons and so on)...
What I'm trying to say is that in my opinion, not only the space of the buildings has its spirits. But also the building itself, the material dimension of the building has them.
Well, that's maybe too confusing theory 😄
Have a great one!

Oh yeah, I remember you discussed stones being like living entities in one of your previous posts. Why not, right? Holistically, stones are recognized building materials and are part and parcel of architecture and built spaces. In the scientific study of Genius Loci, these important stones (with their textures, color, type, etc.) would easily contribute to the environment's Spirit of Place, thereby directly impacting the experiences of its users, inhabitants, or occupants. So, when you say that the material dimension of stones has life, you're not creating confusion but are definitely on track 100%. Hope I made some sense. Cheers! 😊
No worries dear. You are actually doing very well with architecture and design. Keep up the awesomeness. 😊
