RE: Architecture+Design Community Contest: World Architecture Day | (Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai, United Arab of Emirates)

in Architecture+Design3 years ago (edited)

A friendly welcome @missdonna to the Architecture+Design Community. Oh, how I absolutely miss this place! Your stunning photos immediately injected a powerful surge of nostalgia into my veins. You see, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) used to be my home as well for many years. So yes, we certainly have plenty of "Small Talk" in common to share. But for now, let's focus on the remarkable Ibn Battuta Mall.

This entertainment complex is massive and what makes it stand out from the other buildings in Dubai is its Eclectic architectural style with a twist. Instead of mixing various designs in one setting, the entire mall is cleverly subdivided into different sections with their corresponding themes. In this case, this built environment consisted of a collection of countries, including their distinctive architectural characteristics, that the former Muslim explorer Ibn Battuta had previously traveled himself. Hence, walking through this mall's interior spaces would somehow be similar to reliving the actual experiences of venturing to those same destinations. That was how it made an unforgettable impression on me, in my opinion.

Thank you for your beautiful entry to the OCD Community Boost Contest for Architecture+Design. Marvelous publication!

Hi sir @storiesoferne, good morning.Thank you for letting me be part of this community. I am glad to know that you had been to UAE too. My entry will be more sense since there is someone like you who can relate and share your experiences as what I did. It is nice to read and know your opinions about Ibn Battuta Mall. At this point, I would like to say thank you because you were able to add on some important details about in Battuta Mall which I haven't mention above. I am aiming for more information from you and the rest of the team in Architecture and Designs. I am hoping too for more upcoming fun and challenging contests here so I can participate according to the level of my capacity. Once again, I am happy about the warm welcome.
