Retreating Daily to Nature

Urban settlements around the globe are expanding at an exponential rate! Although the development of cities is critical to humanity’s survival, it also attracts high risks to pay.

Pollution. Noise. Sickness. Inequality. Crime. Poverty. Garbage. Stress. Chaos. Sound familiar? These are some of the most common consequences of progress, isn't it?

Now, don't get me wrong. Cities are in fact valuable sources of opportunities, innovation, plus the social, cultural, and economic benefits of its inhabitants.

However, here's a painful pill to swallow.

With today’s high cost of real estate and the rapid advancement of building materials, land use has increasingly prioritized monetary gains instead of addressing the human element - creating miserable spaces that are not conducive for habitation. An alarming dilemma!

Most importantly, they have completely disregarded the natural environment for which these infrastructures are built on. Have we forgotten that Mother Nature was the original resident of our planet? How could we expect to be sustainable if we carelessly continue filling our landmasses with more concrete jungles?

Are we ready to suffer worldwide catastrophic consequences like global warming, a health crisis, or even worse, the unexpected extinction of the human race?

Fortunately, environmental advocates around the world have taken the necessary steps to prevent those unwanted scenarios.

Additionally, architecture and design communities in cooperation with their local governments have likewise implemented strict policies to ensure that natural habitats continue to thrive despite the staggering increase of urbanization. These preventive measures help in minimizing the complete annihilation of the environment.

Take a look at our residential communities for instance. Although parks, gardens, and other green spaces have been mandatory for public areas in urban centers, focusing first on the smaller aspects of society makes all the difference. In other words, awareness begins the moment you step out of your very own doorstep - at home!

Imagine leaving and arriving at your abode every single day of the week with all the sensual pleasures of nature? Would you welcome those healing experiences into your life? Just picture what that would do to your overall health and well-being.

Would this daily routine be something you’d look forward to? I bet!

During one adventurous exploration of a bustling metropolis, I came across a green patch incorporated within a housing subdivision. Planted right at the middle of a neighborhood of colorfully decorated houses, this mini-park immediately caught my curious gaze.

Though occupying a tiny fraction of land, this gorgeous environment was an architectural marvel in its own right. With an organized layout consisting of properly groomed trees, shrubs, plants, trimmed grass, walkways, bike paths, benches, and contoured terrains, it was a creative masterpiece that couldn’t be ignored.

19.jpg

20.jpg

Interestingly, it also doubled as a kids playground where swings, athletic bars, and other sports equipment were installed. Since most of the homeowners in this residential community consisted of young families, the integration of a recreational space for children was certainly a smart move.

23.jpg

As I sat in one of the benches while quietly observing my immediate surroundings, I noticed several kids enjoying its energetic atmosphere, playing until the early hours of the evening. Some of them were even unsupervised by their parents or guardians - telltale signs of a secure and safe haven.

24.jpg

And if there was one outstanding quality that set this green space apart from other similar places I’ve seen, it was its spotless cleanliness. Amazing!

26.jpg

27.jpg

No wonder all the housing units in this vibrant neighborhood were sold out immediately (even during the preselling phase of the project). And if there was one amenity that assisted in closing their buying decision, I was pretty sure it was this mini-park!

28.jpg

Would you invest in real estate that hosts natural environments such as playgrounds, gardens, and parks? And if these therapeutic encounters with nature become easily accessible more often anytime during the day, would that greatly improve our standards of living?

Why not?

Yeah, this post isn't location-specific but only sheds light on an environmental truth. Thanks for the friendly reminder though. ☺️

In short, it would be a good investment, because apart from the beauty in its architecture, it gives you the harmony of nature with those mini-parks, who wouldn't want to have a home in a place like that? simply fascinating

Exactly @armasdiaze. Despite the high cost of some housing developments, there's immense value for your invested money because they cater primarily to the long-term health benefits of the inhabitants. Spaces where nature thrives are must-haves! ☺️

Hello @storiesoferne thank you for sharing your thoughts
I would love to invesment on good area of nature.
But unfortunately nowdays, area with nature design has high pricey. In my country, middle low people living in bad area. Just for sleep and bad for long living. Oh bad
Goverment needed to give more opportunity for middle low society to have access for good design of the living area, maybe starting to change the area design, such as planting more trees, build small pools, and more.
Greetings

That's right @sobatkelana. In today's real estate markets, paying high prices would usually justify the perks included in their investment packages. And having a built-in park within a residential community will always be a valuably priceless advantage! ☺️

Greetings @storiesoferne, real estate with natural surroundings are a great option to enjoy the benefits that this offers us such as parks, outdoor walks and much more, the dilemma is in the high costs to acquire them and pay the condominiums; it is not a decision that is taken lightly, it requires a thorough analysis of the short and long term finances.

Have a great week!

Well said @belkyscabrera. As with any investment that involves large sums of money, several factors are noted to prevent regrettable decisions. And the inclusion of natural habitats in the real estate industry most especially in highly developed cities will certainly nurture more generations to come. Greetings! ☺️

Very good reflection, man in his need to expand has done so at the expense of nature and the planet.
Fortunately we have also been gradually becoming aware of the damage this does to the natural environment. I hope that in the future we will be more and more connected with the nature that surrounds us.

Much appreciated @jordy0827. Humanity couldn't survive in the long run without nature to begin with since we are a crucial part of the environment. Buildings around the world must always factor the organic design element into their architecture. As you said, awareness is key! ☺️

Hello @storiesoferne, I am pleased to greet you.

It seems to me a nice place to live, of course having a small park for the youngsters to play without spreading out too much is more than perfect for the parents.

A house like this in my country is expensive, for the middle class.

Nice to see you too @soyunasantacruz. True, investments in housing developments are becoming more expensive nowadays but the tremendous value we enjoy in buying properties that incorporate natural environments like parks, gardens, and similar green spaces are always worth it. Health is wealth! ☺️

Undoubtedly this is a beautiful place that transmits tranquility, I could easily live there. I like that it has trees around it. Yes it is a good investment! greetings!😊

Thank you @dinaaczib for your warm compliments! Indeed, living spaces that contribute to our peace of mind and overall well-being are architectural treasures worth keeping. ☺️

Nice place..
