Hello hive family.
Today I will talk about one of the largest airports in the world. Istanbul Airport. It is a wonderful airport with its huge structure and eye-catching tower.

Bugün dünyanın en büyük havalimanılarından birinden bahsedeceğim. İstanbul Havalimanı. Devasa yapısıyla göz alıcı kulesiyle çok harika bir havalimanı.
As someone who works at this airport, it is very nice to witness the structure up close. I used to work at Ataturk airport before. It was closed in 2018 and we moved to Istanbul airport. There was a traffic jam of approximately two days. Due to the high density of air in Istanbul, this decision was made and a larger place was built. The population of Istanbul has exceeded 16 million. Istanbul has more population than many European countries.
Bu havalimanında çalışan biri olarak yapıya yakından tanık olmak çok güzel. Daha önce Atatürk havalimanında çalışıyordum. 2018 yılında orası kapandı ve İstanbul havalimanına taşındık. Yaklaşık olarak iki günlük bir trafik yoğunluğunda taşınma oldu. İstanbulda hava yoğunluğunun çok olmasından bu karar verildi ve daha büyük bir yer yapıldı. İstanbul nüfusu 16 milyonu geçti. Birçok Avrupa ülkesinden daha fazla nüfusu var İstanbul'un.
There are 6 runways at this airport. One runway has been specially designed for the landing of airbus380 and boening 747-800 aircraft. The airport was built using mostly iron. There are 5 long passenger departure piers and 2 short side piers. A B D F G ( G passenger piers are used for domestic flights only, others are used for international flights) and these are long piers. Piers C and E are side piers consisting of 4 doors. You can see the piers in the photo I shared in the first image. When you look up the interior design, a crescent image appears on the ceiling, especially during the daytime. There are two major taxiways. Their width is 45 meters. There are many small taxiways to support these.

İlk görselde paylaştığım fotoğrafta pierleri görebilirsiniz. İç dizaynında yukarıya baktığınızda özellikle gündüz her vakitte tavanda hilal görseli çıkıyor. İki büyük taksi yolu bulunmakta. Genişlikleri 45 metre. Bunlara destek bir çok küçük taksi yolu var.
I would like to talk about the tower that I shared in the second image. The tower was made in the shape of a tulip flower. The tulip has a great importance for Istanbul due to the Tulip Era period of the Ottoman state. This building won an international architecture award.

In construction information, this structure was built in a record time of 42 months. A construction proposal was received with a cost of approximately 22 billion dollars. About 36000 people worked on this project. It was expected to serve 94-95 million passengers annually, which reached these figures in a 3-year period. Another distinctive feature of the airport is that it is a quiet airport project, meaning that passenger and airline announcements are not generally made at the airport. Announcements are made only during the flight of each airline as much as its own departure gate. Designed to receive maximum sun. It is also called the green airport.

When you arrive at the airport, there are 7 entrance gates. At this airport, domestic and international lines are located in the same area. All airlines with flights in the same area also have offices. this area is called the land side as the airport term. There are also offices of all airport service companies on this side. There are dining halls and dining areas and cafes for passengers. For passengers arriving downstairs. and there is a large passport pass area in this area. There are many world-famous brands in the vm section after the international flights passport. Upstairs there are walking places and lounges. There are terraces for smoking at certain distances.

Dış hatlar pasaport sonrasında vm bölümünde çok sayıda dünyaca ünlü marka bulınmakta. Üst katta yrmek yerleri loungelar bulunmakta. Belli mesafelerde sigara için teraslar var.

Turkish Airlines is known to be one of the world's largest air travel companies. And it's simply suitable to service their massive airplanes in a highly modernized, efficient, and sophisticated work of aviation architecture like Istanbul Airport. The terminal tower, mimicking the tulip flower, is certainly a marvelous example of nature-inspired design. No wonder it earned prestigious international recognition.
