entry smash 348: rule of thirds

in Shadow Hunters3 months ago (edited)

if you have ever read anything about how to improve your photography skills you must certainly have come across the rule of thirds.

The rule of thirds is a compositional guideline that breaks an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so you have nine pieces and four gridlines. According to the rule, by positioning key elements along the gridlines, you’ll end up with better compositions. Therefore, to apply the rule to your photos, simply use the gridlines to position essential compositional elements. source:https://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds/

i don't know how useful this rule is for the shadow hunter community and shadow shots in general but it decided to try to apply it to a few photos whose compositional elements are exclusively shadows and light

this is the one i am entering in the contest

that was an interesting exercise but i doubt i will give it great importance in my future shadow compositions.

to show what was making the shadows i just took a normal street photo totally oblivious to the rule.

thank you very much

Beautiful shadow....
It is always good to improve photography...and I also want to learn

Great photography information! I seldom give much thought to the rule of thirds.
