Talking about angels implies entering the dark labyrinths of Metaphysics, a place where we must consider that myths and the supernatural inhabit, as well as everything that escapes the rigid norms of objectivity and invites us to speculate.
Their presence, attested by different names in a massive diversity of cultures and traditions, describes them as tutelary guardians, apart from messengers, who watch over us as a second conscience.
As beings of light, their real essence escapes the perception of our senses, which does not mean that we cannot imagine and represent them, due to their heavenly character, as winged beings, their shadow being precisely something that is already familiar to us from the most sweet childhood.

En lo personal, siempre me ha llamado la atención la belleza de los ángeles, esa belleza andrógina y asexual, sin mencionar la afirmación aquella inquietante que dice que todo demonio es un ángel. Bueno, yo diría que en esa afirmación a la que te refieres, tiene su sentido, pues tenemos el ejemplo de los ángeles caídos liderados por Lucifer, que expulsados del cielo en una gran batalla liderada por el Arcángel Miguel, pasaron al grado de demonios. Ya en la Biblia se hablaba de ellos como los 'nephillim' y su androginia y axesualidad podría ser discutible, si nos atenemos a la afirmación de que 'tuvieron relaciones con las hijas de los hombres'. En el aspecto psicológico, podrían ser como los manes de los hogares de las antiguas culturas y tener cierta relación con 'ese amigo invisible' que nos acompaña en la infancia. En fin, que el tema se puede ver desde amplias perspectivas y en algunas, ciertamente inquietantes, pues no siempre parecen tan afables con el hombre y el Arte nos ha dado muchos ejemplos, como el castigo infligido a San Jerónimo o la profunda herida en el muslo de ese santo caminero, tan popular en las tradiciones españolas, que es San Roque.
