I mentioned in my previous blog that my friend was eager to ride the boat but was too wary to do it. He was afraid that the boat will turn over and he might fall in the water. Not that he cannot swim but he had his camera and phone with him. Not a good idea.
It took him a few minutes before he was able to get the boat in the water with him in the boat. When he started rowing, we were all cautious hoping that he can make it.
However, his determination paid off. He was able to maneuver the boat to get from one side to the other, even rowing under the bridge that I thought there was not enough space for the boat to pass through. Slow and steady surely work and that is what our friend did.
We were laughing at him in the beginning but in the end, he came out triumphant.
I wouldn't have done that for I don't know how to swim and I don't know how to row a boat. Even if the lake is not probably not that deep, I don't want to risk it.
Lake Tufob is located in Mountain Province particularly in Barlig. It is more or less 10-hour drive from Manila. From our town of La Trinidad, it is a 5- to 6-hour drive to get to Barlig. This sits on top of a mountain which is believed to be a volcano and the lake is its crater. If you are lucky, you may spot some deer too. So far, we haven't seen one.
There are other places to visit in Barlig like forests, waterfalls, hot spring, rice terraces, etc.
