Shadow Hunters Community Contest SMASh - Round 362
Early last January, I was visiting the small and picturesque town of Santa Rosa, located a short distance from the city of Barquisimeto, where I currently reside.
In Venezuela, faithful to its Hispanic colonial past, it is common for all towns, regardless of their size or importance, to have in their central part, usually in front of the main church or government buildings, a square or open space dedicated to the father of the nation, Simon Bolívar, who led the war of independence against the Spanish Empire.
In these plazas there is a bust or equestrian or full body statue of Bolivar, and in the surrounding area there is usually vegetation and benches for people to sit and rest, and Santa Rosa is no exception, as can be seen in this pair of photos that I share as my participation in this new edition of the Shadows Hunters Community Photo Contest.
As I have described in previous posts, I usually make use of the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed, with the aim of improving or highlighting some element of my images.
A principios del pasado mes de Enero, estuve visitando el pequeño y pintoresco pueblo de Santa Rosa, ubicado a muy corta distancia de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, donde actualmente resido.
En Venezuela, fiel a su pasado colonial hispano, es común que todas las poblaciones independientemente de su tamaño o importancia, tengan en su parte central, generalmente al frente de la iglesia principal o de los edificios gubernamentales, una plaza o espacio abierto dedicado al padre de la patria, Simón Bolívar, quien lideró la guerra independentista contra el Imperio Español.
En estas plazas se ubica un busto o estatua ecuestre o de cuerpo entero de Bolívar, y en sus alrededores generalmente hay vegetación y bancos para que las personas puedan sentarse a descansar, y Santa Rosa no es la excepción, como puede observarse en este par de fotos que comparto como mi psrticipación en esta nueva edición del Concurso Fotográfico de la Comunidad de Shadows Hunters.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, usualmente hago uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed, con el objetivo de mejorar o destacar algún elemento de mis imágenes.
