El lobo y la tortuga
Una cálida mañana ya casi era mediodía, en el bosque los animales preparaban un festín. Celebraban que se fue el invierno y todos podían salir de sus madrigueras y nidos a disfrutar de la calidez del sol. Todos los animales fueron convocados a un mismo sitio. A muchos kilómetros atrás venía la tortuga con su paso lento pero seguro, ella calculaba que llegaría a media noche al lugar. La tortuga de repente ve venir a un lobo y se dijo así misma:
¡le diré a ese amigo de allí que me lleve en su espalda para llegar más rápido al festín!
El lobo venía corriendo y al ver a la tortuga solo se apartó y siguió su camino.
Ella le grito:
¡hey, oye amigo detente!
El lobo se detuvo y le dijo con una voz muy grosera:
¿qué quieres, vieja tortuga?
La tortuga le responde con la santa paciencia:
¡solo quiero que por favor me lleves en tu espalda al festín!
El lobo de inmediato le responde:
¡no, no, no puedo, voy muy deprisa y después no llego a tiempo!
El lobo emprendió de nuevo su camino.
La tortuga estaba muy triste y siguió caminando. Pasadas las dos horas de camino, la tortuga escuchó un aullido que a medida que caminaba se escuchaba más fuerte. La tortuga no veía a nadie por el camino. Al acercarse un poco más se percató de que era lobo que había caído a un hueco y no podía salir.
El lobo, al ver a la tortuga, le dice:
¡por favor, tortuga, ayúdame a salir de aquí!
La tortuga, sin mediar palabra alguna, buscó dentro de su caparazón una cuerda que siempre lleva consigo y se la lanzó al lobo y alaba y alaba para ayudarlo a salir, pero el lobo era muy pesado; sin embargo, la tortuga nunca se rindió. Pasado el tiempo, la tortuga tomó impulso y algo mucho más fuerte la cuerda y logró sacar al lobo del hueco.
El lobo fuera del hueco se sacudía la arena acercándose a la tortuga diciendo:
¡muchas gracias, vieja tortuga, porque me ayudaste si yo hace rato no te quise ayudar!
La tortuga, con la cara de satisfacción por haberlo ayudado, le dijo:
¡Hijo, a diario tengo problemas con mi lentitud, y pido ayuda a los que pasan, a mis amigos, ellos me socorren cuando estoy en problemas, en esta vida debemos ayudar a los demás porque nunca sabemos cuándo vamos a necesitar ayuda, yo ayudo a todo al que necesita de mí, sin necesidad de esperar algo a cambio!
El lobo quedó pensativo de las sabias palabras de la tortuga y en voz baja le dice: ¡gracias tortuga por lo que has hecho por mi, quieres aún que te lleve en mi espalda!
La tortuga sonrió y aceptó.

The wolf and the turtle
One warm morning it was almost noon, in the forest the animals were preparing a feast. They were celebrating the end of winter and everyone could come out of their dens and nests to enjoy the warmth of the sun. All the animals were summoned to the same place. Many kilometers behind came the turtle with his slow but sure step, she calculated that he would arrive at midnight to the place. The tortoise suddenly saw a wolf coming and said to himself:
I'll tell that friend over there to carry me on his back to get to the feast faster!
The wolf came running and when he saw the turtle, he just moved away and continued on his way.
She shouted at him:
hey, hey buddy stop!
The wolf stopped and said in a very rude voice:
what do you want, old turtle?
The turtle replied with saintly patience:
I just want you to please carry me on your back to the feast!
The wolf immediately replies:
no, no, I can't, I'm going too fast and then I won't make it in time!
The wolf went on his way again.
The tortoise was very sad and kept on walking. After two hours of walking, the tortoise heard a howl that got louder and louder as he walked. The tortoise did not see anyone on the road. As he got a little closer, he realized that it was a wolf that had fallen into a hole and could not get out.
The wolf, seeing the turtle, said to him:
please, turtle, help me get out of here!
The turtle, without a word, looked inside his shell for a rope that he always carries with him and threw it to the wolf and praise and praise to help him out, but the wolf was very heavy; however, the turtle never gave up. After some time had passed, the turtle gained momentum and something much stronger the rope and managed to pull the wolf out of the hole.
The wolf out of the hole shook off the sand approaching the turtle saying:
thank you very much, old turtle, because you helped me if I didn't want to help you a long time ago!
The turtle, with a face of satisfaction for having helped him, said to him:
Son, every day I have problems with my slowness, and I ask for help to those who pass by, to my friends, they help me when I am in trouble, in this life we must help others because we never know when we will need help, I help everyone who needs me, without expecting anything in return!
The wolf was thoughtful of the wise words of the turtle and in a low voice he said: thank you turtle for what you have done for me, do you still want me to carry you on my back!
The tortoise smiled and accepted.
