Fanny tiene 17 años y vive con su mamá, una mujer madura pero joven aún. La madre salió embarazada cuando estaba en tercer año de la universidad en Filología inglesa. El padre biológico, un estudiante de artes, cuando se enteró del embarazo se cambió hasta de nombre, nunca más tuvieron noticias de él. Los abuelos maternos expulsaron a la hija de la casa al saber que iba a tener un bebé.
Entonces el dinero que le quedaba a la jovencita para pagar la universidad tuvo que utilizarlo para rentar un piso. Por suerte consiguió empleo en una cafetería, allí lavó platos hasta unos días antes de dar a luz. Fanny nació saludable, así que fue a la guardería y la mamá volvió a trabajar a la cafetería. Pasados 12 años los dueños dijeron que venderían el negocio.
Fanny is 17 years old and lives with her mother, a mature but still young woman. Her mother became pregnant when she was in her third year of university in English Philology. The biological father, an arts student, changed his name when he found out about the pregnancy, and they never heard from him again. The maternal grandparents kicked the daughter out of the house when they found out she was going to have a baby.
So the money the young girl had left to pay for college had to be used to rent an apartment. Luckily she got a job in a cafeteria, where she washed dishes until a few days before giving birth. Fanny was born healthy, so she went to daycare and her mother went back to work in the cafeteria. After 12 years the owners said they would sell the business.

El negocio pequeño les alcanza para pagar los impuestos, mantener la renta del piso y los gastos de la vida diaria.
La mamá de Fanny decidió no pagar otro empleado en su lugar, siguió fregando platos. Pensó ahorrar para pagar los estudios universitarios de su hija. Así que durante las noches trabaja mucho, llega a casa cansada y apenas amanece está otra vez en el trabajo.
Adquirieron el hábito de almorzar y comer en el negocio. Así la madre está al tanto de su hija, conversan mucho, son muy amigas. Ambas se adoran desde el momento justo del nacimiento de Fanny, para ellas no hay nada más saludable y hermoso que los besos que comparten. La muchachita los lleva siempre como amuletos.

El domingo llegó un sobre amarillo a la casa con la confirmación de que Fanny fue aceptada en la Universidad. Enseguida buscó en internet las personas que estaban aceptadas y logró contactar algunas de por allí cerca e hicieron un grupo de WhatsApp.
Acordaron verse en la terminal 41 para ir juntas al aeropuerto. Siempre le pareció muy temprano la hora acordada, pero igual no quería desentonar. El día antes de partir, su mamá habló largamente con ella. Le hizo prometer que se cuidaría mucho y que no se iba a repetir su historia.
Quedaron que antes de irse pasaría a la cafetería a despedirse de su madre, pero las amigas nuevas le dijeron que estaba retrasa, que ya estaban en la 41. Así que solo llamó a su mamá. Todo el trayecto fue pensando en que no fue a besar a su madre, que no llevaba su principal amuleto.
On Sunday a yellow envelope arrived at the house with the confirmation that Fanny had been accepted to the university. She immediately searched the internet for people who were accepted and managed to contact some people nearby and made a WhatsApp group.
They agreed to meet at Terminal 41 to go to the airport together. She always thought the agreed time was too early, but she didn't want to miss it. El relato me llegó al corazón. Es una historia que, lamentablemente, no es ajena a muchas mujeres jóvenes y madres solteras. Me pareció inspirador ver cómo la madre de Fanny, a pesar de haber sido expulsada de su hogar y de tener que hacer frente a un padre biológico irresponsable, no perdió la esperanza y encontró trabajo para mantener a su hija.
Creo que esta historia es un recordatorio de que la vida puede ser difícil y que no siempre se tienen todas las oportunidades, pero que aún así se pueden hacer esfuerzos por salir adelante. La empatía y la compasión son fundamentales en situaciones como esta, y espero que más personas puedan tomar conciencia de ello para ayudar a aquellos que luchan por su supervivencia.
