Welcome to the Creative Coin Newsletter, an occasional report of events, projects, and people in the Creative Coin community.
In this issue we report on two literary communities that have become part of the Creative Coin multiverse: Blockchain Poets and the Ink Well.
Blockchain Poets
The Creative Coin Fund has partnered with the Blockchain Poets community to promote #creativecoin use for poetry on Hive.
Blockchain Poets was founded in March 2020 by @moeknows as "a place where poets support each other through words of encouragement."(source) They began and continue with a simple rule: that for each poem published in the community the author must comment on two other poems.
Nearly two years later the community is active and growing: in their most recent Week in Review they featured 20 poems by 18 poets, in a week when, according to the post, many of the regular poets didn't submit anything.
Recently community moderator @dbooster added a drawing for Hive SBI shares to the weekly review. The Creative Coin Fund will provide 5,000 CCC for the drawing, to be awarded to poets who publish with #creativecoin.
There is also a new channel in the Creative Coin Discord for Blockchain Poets announcements, and the poets are invited to share their poems in the poetry channel.
The Ink Well
In September, the Creative Coin Fund delegated 70,000 CCC to the Ink Well, to promote the use of #creativecoin by their short story writers and to boost the CCC curation award the Ink Well can provide.
The delegation has been a success. When the Fund's At-Large Curator @cliffagreen began curating in the spring of this year, he would find one or two Ink Well stories published with #creativecoin in a week; now there are upwards of a dozen each week, and two Ink Well stories have recently been selected for the Fund's curation weekly: "Captain Of My Heart" by @kaerpediem and "The Traveler" by @brandt.
The Ink Well continues to post a #creativecoin reminder for its writers in their weekly prompt post, as well as publish The Ink Well Highlights Magazine with the Creative Coin hashtag.
Creative Contests
In last month's Creative Coin Newsletter, we asked community members to let us know of any Creative Coin projects or events that could be reported here. Two contests were brought to our attention, by @qwerrie and @an-man. Though neither is a Creative Coin contest, both are certainly creative.
In the Feel Good community, @barbara-orenya, who needs no introduction to the Creative Coin community, is hosting and curating the Season Hunt Challenge. The theme for week 6 of the photography challenge, which runs until December 2, is fall landscapes. You can find full details of how to participate in the challenge by following the link above.
In the HivePizza community, @dibblers.dabs is coordinating the writing of a blockchain novella, "A Tale of Two Pizza's." Each week, writers submit entries continuing the story from the previous week and one is selected by @dibblers.dabs to become the next chapter of the novella. You can catch up with the story so far in the Tale of Two Pizza's Archive Post.
A Hashtag Reminder
This week in Discord, @elamental asked a salient question: "Are #creativecoin and #ccc basically the same thing?"
Not at all, and thank you for asking. We frequently see artists abbreviating the tag, but Creative Coin is only awarded to posts that use #creativecoin.
Remember to spell it out!
Thanks for Reading
This roundup of Creative Coin news is based solely on what @cliffagreen is aware of, either from his time curating #creativecoin posts or through his work with the Creative Coin Fund. If you have a Creative Coin project or event, or if you know of one, drop him a line on Discord (cliffagreen#1444) so that he can include it here. He is especially interested in projects that are built for, or seek to build and support, the Creative Coin community.
Thanks for the shout out about the block chain novella.
Why can't I receive my curatorship rewards?
