When I was a child, back then in the early eighties, my mother used to tell me a story about a king who had two women as his wives. And this wives were both blessed with sons and daughters respectively.
Hmmmm! I vividly remember the words of my sweet mother while sharing this story with me saying; NEVER YOU STRUGGLE FOR WHAT IS NOT RIGHTFULLY YOURS!
From the story, the second wife of the King tried to convince her husband the King to give a larger inheritance to his second son instead of the first as their tradition demanded. In her quest to take what is not righfully hers, she attempted to kill the first son of the King. But unfortunately, the trap she set up ended up catching up with her own son. Space will not permit me to write the story in details but the lesson is where I focused on...!
Nigeria is currently witnessing a similar scenario as a result of the just concluded general election last weekend 25- February, 2023.
The story my mother shared with me is playing out in line with the outcome of the results Saga that is currently a boiling issue in Nigeria.
Oh how I wish that Nigeria and her good and peace loving citizens will hear this words "NEVER YOU STRUGGLE FOR WHAT IS NOT RIGHTFULLY YOURS"
I can hear the youths saying it's our time to be the leaders of our today (which have been our tomorrow for the past years). I used to hear our parents saying children are the leaders of tomorrow.... But in the case of Nigeria, the tomorrow is always tomorrow!
The 2023 general election in Nigeria was with assurances to the youths that the long awaiting tomorrow is here.... But from the national presentation of the results of the successful and peaceful election, it appears the tomorrow is still tomorrow.
But I'm encouraged by the story I tried to share from the introductory part of this piece.....
And I am with high confidence that any trap set up to hinder the youths of Nigeria from seeing and becoming the leaders of tomorrow after this election will fail.
May I call on all the patriotic youths of Nigeria to remain calm and continue to maintain peace and patience please! ANY ONE STRUGGLING TO TAKE WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS will not succeed this time around.
The SYSTEM must WORK as supposed!
Nigeria deserves the best leadership structure in order to actually stand out as the Lion of Africa!
The youths are all becoming grandparents, and the adage "youths are the leaders of tomorrow is becoming a myth"
To our senior citizens in Nigeria, I humbly request that you play your part as parents by ensuring that 'YOUTHS ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW" becomes a reality in the year 2023!
Youths, our tomorrow will not be tomorrow again!
We have some few of our parents who are currently working hard for our common good!
This is our tomorrow!
May I request for the support of our good parents who are not Nigerians to please say something as parents please!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
