RE: Sloth.Buzz Curation Report 21st Dec

in SlothBuzz2 years ago

Good morning @hivebuzz, I've seen this comment a few times now.

I was wondering (being a relatively new outpost/project to hive) why people "should" support this proposal? It would seem 280 HBD (Dollars?) per day is a little high for sending some badges?

Whereas I like the motivation garnered from badges and power-up days, why should the Hive blockchain fund the activity? Is there no way to monetise the Hivebuzz account to pay for costs?

Thanks for answering, as a newer Hive user I haven't really looked into the proposal side of Hive, maybe we should consider funding for Sloth.Buzz, could we count on your backing?

Dear @slothbuzz, sorry for our late reply.

The HiveBuzz project is more than "sending a few badges". We have a full team of people working for us (developer, web designer, graphic designer, community manager, translators, ...), and all those people do not work for free. The World Cup Contest for example required a month of preparation and the same amount for execution. And we do many more events throughout the year.

Funding such a project is exactly what the DHF was created for: supporting projects that help the Hive community, in our case by gamifying user activity and motivating them to stay committed.

Is there no way to monetise the Hivebuzz account to pay for costs?

We don't want to turn our project into something commercial that takes more from users than it gives them.
