O ile w pierwszej części pisałam, że niewiele się tam działo (a zarazem działo bardzo dużo), tak tu dzieje się ogromnie dużo, przy czym - przez znaczną część powieści Ingrid na wyspie Barroy jest sama. Jest dramat, jest rozpacz, jest strach, jest miłość, jest tęsknota.
While in the first part I wrote that not much happened there (and at the same time a lot happened), here a great deal happens, and for a large part of the novel Ingrid is alone on Barroy Island. There is drama, despair, fear, love, and longing.
Jest ludzkie dobro i bezinteresowna pomoc, jest ludzka podłość i zaniedbanie. A to wszystko w tym surowym i pięknym klimacie.
There is human goodness and selfless help, there is human meanness and neglect. And all this in this harsh and beautiful climate.

The mixture of loneliness, war and the stark but beautiful landscape must create a unique atmosphere. I am struck by how you manage to convey so much emotional drama with a seemingly isolated protagonist. I'll make a note of it!
I'm also surprised so many emotions fit into such simple, harsh prose. It's simply wonderful!
