Moje wrażenia są takie, że ta 4-tomowa saga zatacza parabolę. Pierwszy tom jest spokojny, tak - pełen emocji, ale o powolnej akcji. W pewnym momencie uderza śmierć, ale tak to właśnie jest: samo życie, przedstawione w najpiękniejszy, ale i smutny sposób. Drugi tom to cios z samego nieba - dosłownie. Katastrofa Rigela, która zresztą wydarzyła się naprawdę, i jej reperkusje dla losów głównej bohaterki. Trzeci tom to nostalgiczna podróż za utraconą miłością, która tak mnie wzruszyła. A tom czwarty? Sielanka, wyspa, która wreszcie znowu tętni życiem i radością, dużo lata, spokój i mało zdarzeń dokładnie tak jak w pierwszym tomie. Piękna wycieczka z wielorybami w tle, i nagle - niewyobrażalna wprost tragedia.
My impressions are that this 4-volume saga is a parable. The first volume is calm, yes - full of emotions, but with slow action. At some point death strikes, but that's how it is: life itself, presented in the most beautiful but also sad way. The second volume is a blow from the sky - literally. The Rigel catastrophe, which actually happened, and its repercussions for the fate of the main character. The third volume is a nostalgic journey for a lost love that moved me so much. And the fourth volume? An idyll, an island that is finally full of life and joy again, lots of summer, peace and few events, exactly like in the first volume. A beautiful trip with whales in the background, and suddenly - an unimaginable tragedy.
Przepiękna była to saga i cudownie spędziłam z nią czas. Myślę, że pozostanie w moim sercu długo i chętnie do niej kiedyś wrócę. Tom czwarty został wydany w 2021 roku - kto wie, może będzie i kolejny? Choć wydaje mi się, że nie, ze względu na wyżej opisane przeze mnie domknięcie tej historii, na ten powrót na wyspę taką jak z dzieciństwa.
It was a beautiful saga and I had a wonderful time with it. I think it will stay in my heart for a long time and I will gladly return to it someday. The fourth volume was published in 2021 - who knows, maybe there will be another one? Although I think not, because of the closure of this story described above, this return to the island like from childhood.

She wasn’t ready for this yet. She kept walking, heading for the southernmost point of Barrøy, towards the Bench, as they called the huge Russian larch that had once been washed ashore by a storm when she was a child; there she used to deal with her most personal thoughts, there she went when the island threatened to become too small, when life threatened to stop.
