RE: Frank Herbert's "Dune" - An Introduction

Herbert and Tolkien are some of the best world-builders of fiction. What they did in their works are splendid templates to understand how to create a complex unit for a story. I read this first book last year as well and it was a delight. But I haven't gone to the next ones, maybe I'll try after reading these nice notes to refresh my memories on the book!

I love the drawings. The capture the essence of each of the items they describe!

Great storytellers both indeed! There aren't that many writers who can both tell an engaging story and handle such levels of detail and precision, it's quite admirable.
