Being a guy with high curiosity and keen interest in books and reading I am ALWAYS interested to see what other readers are reading. See photo below for evidence and that is just my bedside table! I have clusters of books all over the house, a proper library and over 1000 unread books on my Kindle.
In my experience readers come in two groups The One at a Time Reader - these people focus on reading one book at a time.
The Many Books at a time Reader - this group of readers voraciously consume books as if they are at a literary smorgasbord - the more the better.
I am unashamedly and irrevocably in the second group!
One of the photos is of my bedside table, the other is my darling granddaughter (one of 7 grandchildren).
My current reads are as follows -
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L Shirer
Hillbilly Elegy by J D Vance (written before he became a Trump fan and VP candidate)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
The Voyage Out by Virginia Woolf
Fantastic Fungi - various contributors
The Mismeasure of Man by Stephen J Gould
And kind of finally…
Deep Time Dreaming by Billy Griffiths
An eclectic selection lol.
I look forward to seeing what other group members are reading.
I must say that I belong to the first group, I simply cannot concentrate on several at the same time, I want to give all my attention to one book and that is what happens when I start reading, I get so involved in the reading that I get completely immersed in it.
Currently I have read and shared reviews of: 4 Crimenes, 4 Poderes and Sangre en el Divan (which are books about police events that happened in my country), El Caballero de la Armadura Oxidada and currently the penultimate novel by Gabriel García Márquez Memories of My Melancholy Whores.
