¡Hola comunidad! Hoy les vengo a hablar de la adaptación de una saga de libros juveniles escritos por Marissa Meyer: Las crónicas lunares.
El pasado miércoles 26 de enero de 2022 se dio a conocer la noticia de que la saga de Las crónicas lunares va a ser adaptada por un estudio de animación llamado Locksmith Animation, que fue creado en el 2014 por Sarah Smith y Julie Lockhart y tiene su sede en Londres.
La misma autora de los libros dio a conocer la noticia en sus redes sociales.
Hello community! Today I am here to talk about the adaptation of a series of children's books written by Marissa Meyer: The Lunar Chronicles.
Last Wednesday, January 26, 2022, the news was released that the series of The Lunar Chronicles is going to be adapted by an animation studio called Locksmith Animation, which was created in 2014 by Sarah Smith and Julie Lockhart and has its headquartered in london.
The same author of the books released the news on her social networks.

Contexto de los libros
Las crónicas lunares son lo que se llama retelling, historias que ya conocemos, contadas de una forma diferente, pero tratando de mantener la esencia principal de cada historia. Esta saga está compuesta de 6 libros, 4 principales y 2 historias cortas. Todos tienen protagonistas diferentes pero no son independientes entre sí, sino que continúan una misma historia.
El primer libro se llama Cinder y trata de la historia de la Cenicienta versión cibernética. Cinder es una joven humana que debido a un accidente en su niñez tuvieron que reconstruirle el cuerpo con partes de androide.
Context of the books
The Lunar Chronicles are what is called retelling, stories that we already know, told in a different way, but trying to maintain the main essence of each story. This series is composed of 6 books, 4 main and 2 short stories. They all have different protagonists but they are not independent from each other, but continue the same story.
The first book is called Cinder and deals with the story of the cyber version of Cinderella. Cinder is a young human who, due to an accident in her childhood, had to rebuild her body with android parts.

El tercero es Cress, la historia de Rapunzel, pero en vez de estar encerrada en un castillo en la torre más alta, se encuentra encerrada en un satélite en el espacio, completamente sola.
The third is Cress, the story of Rapunzel, but instead of being locked in a castle in the highest tower, she finds herself locked in a satellite in space, all alone.
Le sigue Fairest, una mini historia de la reina Levana, la villana de la saga. Acá nos cuentan porqué se convirtió en este ser despiadado. ¿Habrá sido siempre así o no?
It is followed by Fairest, a short story of Queen Levana, the villain of the series. Here they tell us why he became this ruthless being. Has it always been like this or not?
Y, por último, tenemos Winter, que es la historia de Blancanieves con su propia madrastra que la quiere quitar del medio para ser la única reinante. ¿Lo logrará?
And, finally, we have Winter, which is the story of Snow White with her own stepmother who wants to remove her from the middle to be the only reigning one. You'll make it?
Aunque no es realmente el último porque para cerrar tenemos Stars Above, donde nos van a contar a través de mini historias de los protagonistas detalles que nos hemos perdido y como continuaron sus vidas después del último libro.
Although it is not really the last one because to close we have Stars Above, where they are going to tell us through short stories of the protagonists details that we have missed and how their lives continued after the last book.
Además también hay 2 novelas gráficas independientes, pero enriquecedoras para los amantes de este mundo, y la protagonista es nada más ni nada menos que Iko, una androide de pura cepa que vamos a querer mucho durante el transcurso de la saga.
In addition, there are also 2 independent graphic novels, but enriching for lovers of this world, and the protagonist is nothing more and nothing less than Iko, a purebred android that we are going to love a lot during the course of the series.
Mi opinión sobre la adaptación
Esta noticia es más que bienvenida tanto por los fanáticos de esta historia como por mí porque pienso que al ser una adaptación animada las posibilidades son infinitas.
Siento que se puede adaptar mucho mejor que si fuera interpretada por personas de carne y hueso.
Obviamente este es solo el principio y se sabe que todo lleva su tiempo y los proyectos pueden no prosperar o tardar años en ver la luz. Pero realmente espero que pueda concretarse, sería interesante de ver.
Los seguiré manteniendo al tanto de cualquier novedad que haya al respecto.
Y por supuesto, los invito a leer esta magnífica saga.

My opinion on adaptation
This news is more than welcome both for the fans of this story and for me because I think that being an animated adaptation the possibilities are endless.
I feel like it can be adapted much better than if it were played by flesh and bone people.
Obviously this is just the beginning and it is known that everything takes time and projects may not prosper or take years to see the light. But I really hope it can come to fruition, it would be interesting to see.
I will continue to keep you informed of any developments in this regard.

I didn't know about this type of book, RETELLING, you have taught me today thank you ☺️, I have always thought that those animated stories that my generation grew up with should be retold and with this story update I think it's perfect that they do.
I really liked your review, of all the ones that intrigued me the most was Rapunzel's story, could it be that she used her hair to come down from the satellite? that's really creative, thank you and best regards. @erigm
Hello, thank you for your words! I'm glad you were interested in the content and this kind of stories. The Cress book, Rapunzel's story, is my favorite of the series. The truth is that she is rescued by Cinder and her friends on a spaceship (all very cyber around here). Her hair is not a big protagonist this time around.
