Bueno, hoy me paso por acá para compartirles la reseña del segundo libro de la trilogía El imperio hundido, este segundo libro se llama La emperatriz de los huesos de la autora Andrea Stewart.

Well, today I'm stopping by to share with you the review of the second book of The Drowning Empire trilogy, this second book is called The Bone Shard Emperor by author Andrea Stewart.
La historia sigue luego de lo ocurrido en el primer libro, tras el fallecimiento de su padre y emperador de Imperial, ahora Lin Sukai es la nueva emperatriz. Pero nada resulta según lo planeado porque su padre era un tirano que hizo sufrir al pueblo y creen que su hija es igual a él. Así que tendrá que ganarse el favor de los gobernadores de las otras islas para fortalecer su gobierno. Además, tiene varios frentes abiertos que intentan derrocarla, los rebeldes de los poco sin esquirlas comandados por Gio y los constructos comandados por Nisong, la constructo fabricada por su padre que guarda los recuerdos de su madre fallecida y posee el conocimiento de la magia de las esquirlas. Ahora Lin deberá tener cuidado en quien confía, sobre todo en su reciente nombrado capitán de la guardia imperial, Jovis, ya que su gobierno corre peligro. The story continues after what happened in the first book, after the death of her father and emperor of Imperial, now Lin Sukai is the new empress. Este segundo libro estuvo demasiado bueno, no le tenía tanta fe. Me había gustado el primero, pero recuerdo que esperaba otra cosa, así que me demore en leer la continuación, pero me alegra saber que estaba equivocada. Este segundo libro me dio lo que esperaba y mucho más.
This second book was too good, I didn't have that much faith in it. I had liked the first one, but I remember expecting something else, so I delayed reading the sequel, but I'm glad to know I was wrong. This second book gave me what I expected and more.
La trama se rige por los conflictos políticos y la guerra que se acerca. Cada uno de los participantes tienen motivos más que poderosos para luchar y tratar de hacerse con el imperio. Pero este solo será de una sola persona. Me pareció abusiva la cantidad de frentes de guerra que se abrieron a Lin, me dio mucha pena por ella porque de verdad se la paso todo el libro haciendo un esfuerzo sobrehumano para demostrar que es digna de ser la emperatriz y que de verdad quiere ayudar a su gente.
The plot is driven by political conflicts and the approaching war. Each of the participants have more than powerful motives to fight and try to take over the empire. But this will only belong to one person. I found the amount of war fronts opened to Lin abusive, I felt very sorry for her because she really spent the whole book making a superhuman effort to prove that she is worthy of being the empress and that she really wants to help her people.
Así que sí, se puede decir que Lin fue mi personaje protegido en este segundo libro, junto con Mefi y Thrana, por supuesto, ¿qué sería de esta historia sin Mefi? A él lo amo desde que apareció en el primer libro, es un animalito poco común que nadie sabe de qué especie es pero tiene relación con los alangas, y Thrana es de su misma especie también. Ella es la protegida de la emperatriz, tienen un vínculo muy lindo. Al igual que el de Jovis y Mefi, salvo que estos dos son más inmaduros en todo sentido.
So yes, you can say that Lin was my protected character in this second book, along with Mefi and Thrana, of course, what would this story be without Mefi? I've loved him since he appeared in the first book, he's a rare little animal that no one knows what species he is but he's related to the alangas, and Thrana is of his same species as well. She is the empress's protégé, they have a very nice bond. Just like Jovis and Mefi's, except these two are more immature in every way.
Jovis, que es considerado el héroe desde el primer libro, en este se manda muchas metidas de pata. Así que me cayo un poco mal por momentos, sobre todo por dudar de Lin. Siento que la juzgo demasiado rápido. La verdad es que la admire a la emperatriz. Para los fans del romance como yo, les aclaro que no va tanto por ese lado, pero sí hay y en este segundo libro se noto mucho más.
Jovis, who has been considered the hero since the first book, screws up a lot in this one. So I kind of disliked him at times, especially for doubting Lin. I feel like I judge her too quickly. I actually admired the empress. For fans of romance like me, I can tell you that it is not so much on that side, but there is and in this second book it is much more noticeable.
Lo bueno de esta historia es que tiene varios puntos de vista y podemos estar al tanto de lo que está pasando en las demás islas con los demás personajes importantes que conforman la trama. Me gusta mucho cuando pasa esto, siento que enriquecen la historia y te ayudan a entender mejor a los diversos personajes.
The good thing about this story is that it has several points of view and we can be aware of what is happening on the other islands with the other important characters that make up the plot. I really like when this happens, I feel that they enrich the story and help you understand the various characters better.
El final me dejó con muchas, pero muchas, ganas de tener el tercer y último libro en mis manos, pero hasta junio de este año todavía no se publica en español en mi país, por lo que toca esperar. Pero estoy más que lista para llegar al final de esta historia y espero que esté a la altura. Por lo pronto, les recomiendo la trilogía si les gusta la fantasía y los enredos políticos, además de la magia y criaturas super simpáticas y habladoras que les robaran el corazón.
The ending left me with a lot, but a lot, of desire to have the third and last book in my hands, but until June of this year it is still not published in Spanish in my country, so I have to wait. But I am more than ready to get to the end of this story and I hope it lives up to it. For now, I recommend the trilogy if you like fantasy and political entanglements, as well as magic and super nice and talkative creatures that will steal your heart.

Oh sí, la nueva insignia de Hive Book Club está genial, esas formas de incentivarnos están súper cool.
Tengo mucho tiempo sin leer algo de fantasía contemporánea, la verdad es que hay tantas opciones que a veces es abrumador decidirse entre leer cosas como Una corte de rosas y espinas o Alas de Sangre, jajaja termino siempre volviendo a los clásicos.
Sin embargo, me da curiosidad el tema de mezclar rasgos de la cultura oriental en la trama, leer emperatriz llamó mi atención. Luego ver que te gustó mucho mas que el primero y cambió tu percepción, es genial, eso no pasa siempre, las segundas partes suelen seguir la linea del primero, pero me alegra ver que hubo un cambio positivo. Lástima que aún no se publica el tercero, creo que tampoco podría leer algo que me hiciera esperar tanto jajaja. Aunque junio está ahí mismo, no te preocupes, al menos sabes que la continuación es un hecho y existe.
