Five people, five stories about their lives, hopes, fears, wishes, future and past.
People who are centuries away from their old origin, yet grounded in their home, Exodus Fleet.
From our ships, we live.
By the stars, we hope.
A story about Humans who escaped the devastation of their mother planet and how they cope with their centuries long journey which has ended decades ago. Their homesteaders, huge ships are orbiting their new home sun. Yet they stick to the traditions and habits that brought them here, that made them strong, that enabled them to survive.
Is it time to abandon the Fleet and settle planetside? Is it time to abandon their ways and embrace alien culture the way they embraced technology? Is it time to blend into the Galactic Community and accept the fact that they are just the newest sapiens on the scene, still infants yet in danger of loosing their roots?
Becky Chambers has written another masterpiece in her Wayfarer series. This is the third of four books set in the Galactic Commons. Not a space opera like "The long way to a small angry planet", not an intimate story of two women from "A closed and common orbit". This is a lovely tapestry of love and fear and tradition and searching for a purpose. Will our heroes find their answers? Will they find out what is "the point" of being alive and at home in The Fleet? Read the book and you will find out for yourself.
Next, I'll start reading the book on the right, the hard covered one since it is still fresh from Becky's pen. I guess the story there will show us the big picture, the galaxy itself. And individuals who try to make the best in this huge area of endless possibilities. Let's read and see and imagine new worlds.

This book has a really really nice title. All books in the series do, I think.
And for your question, the picture looks like it was taken from a boat or a yatch
True and you are right. !INDEED
Can you be more specific about the boat and its location?

I'll go with a boat cruising along a small river
