Hello, letter-loving community! I wanted to share with you a recommendation of two books by Agatha Christie that I liked the most. If you like to read about crime the works of this author are great as a place to start. As classics of the genre they are very good and not so long. The author's style doesn't beat around the bush and presents her cases without extra filler or parallel histories, which have nothing to do with the case. The facts, the details, the thoughts of the characters (the incredible Poirot and the sweet Miss Marple are the detectives par excellence) intertwine in an impressive way and in the end everything fits together like a puzzle, because that is what her books are.
¡Hola comunidad amante de las letras! Quería compartir con ustedes una recomendación de dos libros de Ágatha Christie que más me gustaron. Si te gusta leer sobre crímenes las obras de esta autora son geniales como para comenzar. Como clásicos del género son muy buenos y no tan extensos. El estilo de la autora no da rodeos y presenta sus casos sin relleno de más o historias paralelas, que nada tienen que ver con el caso. Los hechos, los detalles, los pensamientos de los personajes (el increíble Poirot y la dulce Miss Marple, son los detectives por excelencia) se entrecruzan de manera impresionante y al final todo encaja como un rompecabezas, porque eso es lo que son sus libros.

Agatha Mary Clarissa Miller (September 15, 1890 - January 12, 1976), known as Agatha Christie, was a British writer and playwright specializing in the detective genre, for whose work she gained international recognition. Throughout her career, she published 66 detective novels, six detective novels and 14 short stories under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott, in addition to her work as a playwright in plays such as The Mousetrap and Witness for the Prosecution.

In this book we have as the main character the famed detective Hercule Poirot, who receives an assignment from a young woman to investigate the murder of her father. Carla Lemarchant is the daughter of a famous painter, Amyas Crale, who was murdered by his wife 16 years ago. On her 21st birthday, the aunt and uncle who raise her give her a letter written by her mother before her death, in which she says she is innocent. Full of doubts, she turns to the detective to find out the truth and, if her mother is innocent as she says, the identity of the murderer. The detective accepts the case and, based on an old English lullaby called This Little Piggy, interviews the five people who were involved in the case. Through their written accounts, the alibis and the facts that he manages to discover by pure deduction, he manages to find the truth, which is unexpected and surprising.
En este libro tenemos como protagonista al afamado detective Hércules Poirot, que recibe un encargo de una joven para investigar el asesinato de su padre. Carla Lemarchant es hija de un pintor famoso, Amyas Crale, asesinado por su esposa hace 16 años atrás. En su cumpleaños número 21, los tíos que la crían le entregan una carta escrita por su madre antes de morir, donde relata que es inocente. Llena de dudas acude al detective para que descubra la verdad y, si su madre es inocente como dice, la identidad del asesino. El detective acepta el caso y, partiendo de una antigua canción de cuna inglesa llamada This Little Piggy (Este pequeño cerdito), se entrevista con las cinco personas que estuvieron involucradas en el caso. Mediante sus relatos escritos, las coartadas y los hechos que logra descubrir por pura deducción, logra dar con la verdad que es inesperada y sorprendente.

This novel is the one I liked the most of all, because of the original principle from which it is based. It is born from the idea that not all crimes can be judged by justice, remaining unpunished.

Eight unrelated people receive an invitation to spend a vacation on Black Island, off the coast of Devon. Each letter is written by a person who claims to have known them in the past from somewhere they recognize, although none of them remembers the person in question. Such an irresistible trip, with everything paid for, tempts even the most incredulous and they all decide to accept.

They arrive at a mansion located on the island and there discover that their host, Mr. U. N. Owen, is not to be found, but will be attended to by the servants, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, recently hired. Each of the guests finds in his room a copy of the nursery rhyme of the ten little Indians framed and hanging on the wall. That evening, during dinner, the guests notice ten small porcelain figures, ten negritos, on the dining room table. When they finish, a recording accuses them one by one of having been guilty of the death of several people in the past. They all deny their guilt and realize that they have been deceived when a storm hits the island and leaves them isolated and unable to leave. When they begin to be killed one by one according to the song and the little porcelain blacks begin to disappear, the terror begins: there is a murderer among them.
Llegan a una mansión ubicada en la isla y allí descubren que su anfitrión, el señor U. N. Owen, no se encuentra, pero serán atendidos por los sirvientes, el señor y la señora Rogers, contratados recientemente. Cada uno de los invitados encuentra en su habitación una copia de la canción infantil de los diez negritos enmarcada y colgada en la pared. Esa noche, durante la cena, los invitados observan diez pequeñas figuras de porcelana, diez negritos, sobre la mesa del comedor. Al terminar, una grabación les acusa uno por uno de haber sido culpables de la muerte de diversas personas en el pasado. Todos niegan su culpabilidad y se dan cuenta de que han sido engañados cuando una tormenta azota la isla y los deja aislados sin poder marcharse. Cuando comienzan a ser asesinados uno por uno de acuerdo a la canción y los negritos de porcelana a desaparecer, empieza el terror: hay un asesino entre ellos.
