Hello friends, my name is Favour Olayinka. Initially, reading wasn't really my thing. I do not see it as something to love but right from the beginning, I find myself reading books.
As a young girl in primary school, I usually borrow story books from my friends and I read them joyfully. Also, I read stories from textbooks, magazines or any newspaper I find in my house. As a result of this, I chose the Art Department in Senior Secondary School and because mathematics and I are not friends. Infact, we can't be friends.

In my senior secondary school days, I read a lot of books. Even if I don't want to read, I have to, because that's what literature students do. I read books like Second Class Citizen, Look Back in Anger, Punctured Destiny, Wuthering Heights, and many others.
When I entered the university, I see most of my friends venture into something of creativity like handiwork, designing and other creative works. This baffled me a lot because I didn't learn a skill and I was so confused about what to do or venture into. However, I wanted something different and unique. I don't want to flow with the common and popular tide, but I want to create my own tide so people can flow with it.
As usual, I committed this into God's hands by praying, and one evening an idea popped into my head. "Why don't I create a book club?", I said to myself. I took a bold step to create a WhatsApp community with the name, The Bookworm, and I sent the link to my friends. Beyond my expectation, a lot of people joined the community. This made me really happy and also increased my love for books.
Now, I'll tell you a little about what THE BOOKWORM community is all about.
Image is mine
The Bookworm is a community of readers where we connect with one another through the power of books. The mission of this community is to ignite the zeal to read in the heart of many, through the reading of one book (fiction or non-fiction) in a month. Also, to strengthen writing skill and ability, and increase imagination and creativity. The community's vision is to reach out to many souls through the power of books, and create an atmosphere of healing in all areas of life - psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, academically, and in all circles of life.
Mind you, there are over 250 participants in this community and this has been my motivation ever since. Also, this group thrived all thanks to a friend of mine whose name is Yomi. He has been a great help to this community. In general, this has motivated me to do the extraordinary, and I'm motivated to keep pushing until I achieve my goal and to let the world see those potentials in me.
It has always been said that we create our future by envisioning it. Yes, I create imaginations and thoughts that are vital to effectively steering me toward the fulfillment of my dreams. I can see it! I believe it and I will eventually become it. I see a world of great readers, writers and mentors full of inspiration and doing great things as they push humanity forward, actualise purpose, and maximize potentials.
Older me
To become a part of this world, I would not limit myself to what I think is possible. I will push past my current limitations and reach higher. Also, I will ask what makes me come alive and I will do it. With this, I will ignite my potentials and create a wonderful future for myself. I AM A BOOKWORM.
this is my first post on Hive Book Club and I'm happy to be a part of this community.

Well done. Creating a bookclub is really important because not everyone reads. It can be a self isolating hobby and honestly, I experienced that growing up. Thank god for the internet, now its easier to connect to like minded people and join clubs

There aren’t many people who can envision something for themselves and bring it into reality.
Sometimes it’s cool when we create something and see it grow.
Welcome to the Hive Book Club, I hope to see more of you
