This time I will continue with the reading challenge posted by @nathyortiz. For those people who are just learning about the challenge, I will explain briefly what it is about; it consists in dedicating seven days of reading, each day corresponds to a different theme; at the end of the post I attached the direct link if you want to be part of it. In this way, today I will share my experience of the book entitled The Disappearance by Tim Krabbé. Because the theme of day 4 corresponds to: A book you finish in one day, without a doubt this is a book that you can read in 24 hours because it consists of only 120 pages; of course it all depends on the availability of time you have, in my case when I love a book, I get to a point where I am everywhere reading it until I finish it, and more when it looks interesting reading it.
En esta ocasión daré continuidad con el reto de lectura posteado por @nathyortiz. Para aquellas personas que apenas se están enterando del reto les explico brevemente de qué trata; consiste en dedicar siete días de lectura, cada día corresponde una temática diferente; al final del post adjunté el enlace directo si deseas formar parte de ella. De esta forma, hoy compartiré mi experiencia del libro titulado La desaparición de Tim Krabbé. Debido a que la temática del día 4 corresponde: Un libro que termines en un día, sin duda alguna este es un libro que puedes leerte en 24 horas debido a que consta de tan solo 120 páginas; claro todo depende de la disponibilidad de tiempo que tengas, en mi caso cuando me encanta un libro, llego a un punto en que estoy en todos lados leyéndolo hasta terminarlo, y más cuando se ve interesante la lectura del mismo.
Day 4: A book you finish in one day
As I had mentioned before, the book entitled The Disappearance by the novelist and journalist Tim Krabbé, was published in February 2005, it can be read in one day, if we have enough time. Therefore, I will tell you about the book so that you can get an idea of what it is about. First of all, I read the novel in the year 2015 I remember I was in my early college days; an old friend had suggested it to me and since she had the book in physical form, she wanted to entrust it to me for a while, so I did not hesitate to accept and take the responsibility of taking care of it. It really is a book that filled me with curiosity as soon as I saw the title. Without further ado, Let's talk about the book!
Como bien había mencionado con anterioridad el libro titulado La desaparación del novelista y periodista Tim Krabbé, fue publicado en el mes de Febrero del año 2005, la misma puede ser leído en un día, si disponemos de suficiente tiempo. Por ello, les relataré sobre el libro para que puedan tener una idea de qué trata. En primer lugar, la novela la leí en el año 2015 recuerdo que estaba en mis comienzos de la universidad; una vieja amiga me lo había sugerido y como ella tenía el libro en físico, quiso confiármelo por un tiempo, así que no dudé en aceptar y asumir la responsabilidad de cuidarlo. Realmente es un libro que me llenó de muchísima curiosidad a penas visualicé el título. Sin más preámbulos, ¡Hablemos del libro!
At the beginning you will see a brief description of the main characters Rex Hofman and Saskia Ehlvest, a young couple, so they decide to travel from Amsterdam to France to enjoy each other and get to know the country. However, their dreams take a sudden turn when one day they decide to stop by a gas station for a gas fill-up; the novel becomes very surprising when Saskia decides to go into a store near the gas station to buy some beer for Rex and a soda for herself. So Rex, while waiting for her in the outdoor spaces of the store, after so much waiting, realizes that Saskia has disappeared, making the novel very suspenseful. From that moment on, you will be a reader caught up in the interest of wanting to know what really happened to the girl.
Al comienzo podrás observar una breve descripción de los personajes principales Rex Hofman y Saskia Ehlvest, una pareja joven, por lo que, deciden viajar de Amsterdam a Francia para disfrutar del uno al otro y conocer dicho país. Sin embargo, sus sueños da un giro repentino cuando un día deciden pasar por una estación de servicio total para un llenado de gasolina; la novela se vuelvo muy sorprendente cuando Saskia decide entrar a una tienda que se encontraba cerca de la gasolinera para comprar un poco de cerveza para Rex y una soda para ella. Así que Rex, mientras la espera en los espacios exteriores de la tienda, después de tanto esperar, se da cuenta que Saskia ha desaparecido, convirtiendo la novela en muchísimo suspenso. Desde ese momento, serás un lector atrapado en el interés de querer saber qué fue lo que pasó realmente con la chica.
From that moment, Hofman tries to look for her with the help of other people, but Saskia had disappeared without a trace, and Rex decides to rebuild his life. After eight years, he manages to meet another person, but the memory torments him, he misses every detail lived with Ehlvest. Deep down, Rex feels that he would give his life in exchange for knowing what happened to Saskia. There is no doubt that the theme of the story told by the novelist refers to perverse minds, the ease with which one can cross the line into the territories of evil and about those infinite hearts that do not forget those who have left their mark on us and disappear as if by magic and how difficult it is to forget that which is no longer there, which is gone forever.
Desde ese momento, Hofman intenta buscarla con ayuda de otras personas, pero Saskia había desaparecido sin dejar rastro alguno, ya Rex decide rehacer su vida. Después de ocho años, logra conocer a otra persona, pero el recuerdo lo atormenta, cada detalle vivido con Ehlvest lo extraña. Realmente Rex desde lo mas profundo siente que sería capaz de dar su vida a cambio de saber qué le ocurrió a Saskia. No cabe duda, que el tema de la historia que nos cuenta el novelista, se refiere a las mentes perversas, la facilidad con la que se puede cruzar la línea a los territorios de la maldad y sobre aquellos infinitos corazones que no olvidan a quienes nos han dejado huella y desaparecen como por arte de magia y cuan difícil es olvidar aquello que ya no esta, que se ha ido para siempre.
