A gym love story? Definitely new territory. I'm unashamed to say I have not read a gym romance plot this year.
I mean, of course I've complained tirelessly of how contemporary romance novels are becoming such a bore. Which is why, when BookTok recommended this book to me, I kept an open mind. It was obviously romance, but a gym romance plot is one plot I have mixed feelings about reading. You wouldn't blame me, seeing that I have a not so memorable experience of comforting a gym buddy who had her heart shattered to irreparable pieces by her gym crush. Which, by the way has left me temporarily having mixed feelings about getting into a relationship with gym members. It may be because of my friend's experience, or because of the stereotypical belie

Halloween is right around the corner now and with everything going on at the moment, my Halloween comics and tv shows and films took a bit of a dive. But with just a few days left to enjoy the Halloween season I decided to look through recent comic releases in search of something that would be more fitting for the month. I started a few already that I previously wrote about, but they're still ongoing and between volumes. While I'm not particularly much of a fan of DC's works, or Marvel's for that matter, I did see that DC had highlighted a few comics from yesteryear that they were offering off for free that had some relation to the Halloween atmosphere. A few of them caught my attention, one of which featured Batman and Dracula which sounds quite fun. Another was something called DCEASED. A fun play on the word deceased with the DC branding. I guess it's relatively self-explanatory as to what it could be about. From what I had gathered with a quick reading of the synopsis, it seemed like the superhero setting featuring a virus that roams through the world, turning people into something rather zombie-like, but not entirely. I noticed it had just six volumes to it, which made it more appealing given it would only take a few hours to get through. I'm usually a little picky with these comics, one of the main things that pushes me out of interest tends to be the art style rather than the story. And DCEASED had a pretty interesting art style look to it.

Honestly, this book makes me want to get the physical copy, as the one I am reading is the e-book version. I think there are some lines that I want to highlight physically in the book. While my initial reaction was definitely indifferent, I ended up enjoying reading this one.I've also read a few reviews on Verity, another standalone book of hers that seems to be more of my thing. Maybe then I'd eventually like Hoover more than I do right now.Would I recommend checking out Regretting You? Sort of, if you need a light read and something widely popular—almost every book aficionado you know has read her works.

Finally!
After long months away from my books and the struggle to even read through this, I finally am done. I guess that a number of you remember reading that semi-rant, I have lost my penchant for writing just a while back. Anyways, I'm here to inform you that I made it through that read and fast, too. Phew! I feel super glad. And, thanks for your advices and contributions, they were helpful.
Moving on, I promised that I would give a review once I was done reading, and here it is.

Having finished Andrew Doyle's PA course on Shakespearean tragedy, I eagerly started looking for something to keep him in my brain and ears. I was so taken with his eloquence and charm - to be fair, he had me from the first lecture, making off-hand comments about the woke deluge the Globe Theatre has been under, this past decadeNow, I'm not normally one for audiobooks. I have a racing mind and tend to wander off when someone's reading at me. But I'd gotten used to Andrew Doyle's voice and the combination of Britishness and superbly articulate snark had me reaching for my headphones.

Hi! How’s it going? Hope you're all doing well. Today I want to share a review of a book my mom gave me for Christmas. I'll break it down into two parts: the first will be spoiler-free for those who haven’t read it, and the second will dive a bit deeper for those who already know the story.

What is Hive Book Club?

Hive Book Club is a community made by book lovers, for book lovers. A place where the chaotic minds of writers may punch away words from their keyboards as they share their writing adventures. Where passionate book collectors may rummage through their stacks of books to share and review their latest additions. Outside of our regular curation process, we may create contests for our community to participate in, and earn even more from their posts.

If you have a certain theme for a future contest you would like to see, let us know! Be sure to check with us frequently on our various social media platforms to avoid missing out!

How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?

For those of you curious as to how you may have been chosen or would like to be chosen in the future in one of these compilations: we scan through the community and read the many posts that the community members write. We then select four or five posts that we believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of sharing with the rest of the community. We aim to keep these selections diverse in style, from writing skills or subject matter.

Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually handpick the posts. Some factors include the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort. If we choose you, or you happen to stumble across these highlights, please do check out the other posts we feature, and contribute to their curation and engagement!
